I took this for the juxtaposition of Dirty Dicks Wine Bar in the corner of Abbots Chambers with various monastical motifs further up the building.

Nice to see them in better resolution... the foggy skyscraper one is even more impressive, though if I had a decent perspective plug-in, I think I'd want to get the verticals dead vertical, if I were doing a large print (which I think would work well).

Out of interest, what's the cost?

Free up to 1000 uploaded photos.
I just delete older ones as required.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I've got a lot of free storage on WordPress (at least 15Gb spread over five or so photo blogs), but as I find them useful for archiving and searching, I don't delete, and now have 100Gb for Google too, though that's as cheap as chips. Extra WordPress storage is silly expensive.

Yeah, I don't use Flickr for any real memory, just temporarily sharing stuff.

What do you use for your main storage? I've just started using Prime as it's included in my subscription but not really used it yet.

Trip up to North Wales, had to run a marathon to justify the trip (scenery was beautiful but didn't stop to take photos!). As I was there I had to photograph the 'lone tree' which is probably the Welsh equivalent of the tree that go chopped down in Northumberland as an Instagram cliche if a little less old (but more scenic IMHO). Llyn Padarn extending in front an Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon shrouded in cloud to the right

iCloud. We've been in the Apple system for over 20 years now. Yes it is overpriced but it is so integrated for the whole family that it is worth the extra. Imo.
I have used Google and Microsoft for work and still have a Google account which is much cheaper but just doesn't work as seamlessly.
I could use Prime and BT as a customer but I know that I am likely to move from them.

    Nice image Pross.

I think this breaks a few ‘rules’, but with the state of tide and rain, choices were few.

    stormy

Got a thorough soaking today. I had a narrow escape whilst driving home in heavy rain on flooded roads when hitting a flooded section (in a dip). The car very nearly conked out, but luckily it had just enough stamina to reverse out. Good old car! It wouldn’t have been much fun breaking down where I was.

Marloes sands. It was a big tide today with a wind behind it, so the sands were covered earlier than expected.

Dunno about the rules but there are some good leading lines there and nicely exposed.

Yes, the leading lines work and the break in the clouds (left) brought some much needed light. It was more the foreground rocks having no separation from the islands behind, and I feel the central rock could be better placed, but as there was no beach left to walk on, that was it really. I did take some other shots going across the bay, which are OK.

Points well made but unless you take a ladder out... 😉
I didn't notice as the haze gives colour separation, if that's some consolation.

👍 There are steps up the cliffs which gave me the height, but then I was too far away. That’s the trouble with using primes for landscapes, I guess.

    This one was easier.

A few more from Eryri / Snowdonia - Llyn Cwellyn at the Snowdon Ranger Youth Hostel and Aberglaslyn Pass at Pont Aberglaslyn. I had the same dilemma as PB had recently of going for the natural image with a fast shutter speed or the arty long exposure shot so did a bit of both but the breeze made getting a long exposure tricky as the leaves on the trees were blurring and I've had to crop them a fair bit.

Went for a walk with the wife today to see the autumn colours, which did not disappoint.
I also spotted some tat for Masjer.

I gave you a like for the autumn colours of the trees, then flagged you for the strange creature. So I decided to remove my flag to balance the like.

Absolutely nothing here - had hoped for proper overtopping at 9.30 high tide, but the wind was completely in the wrong direction, and it started tipping down. Predictions of late afternoon sun in between showers didn't hold out. Played the trombone at the laptop and went on the turbo instead.

Apparently it tiddled down all day exactly a year ago too, and all I did was take screencaps of the rainfall radar.
