I swear Froome is either really concerned about his climbing or he's just ******* everyone a massive bird this Tour.
Great to watch though isn't it!

    Bl00dy marvelous!

    Panache tastic!

JOY FOR CYCLING FANS GLOBALLY! :D:D:D:D

Froome wasn't going to get caught about by a split again like he was in 2013.

Froomey definitely rode there expecting a Chalet Reynard finish tomorrow. Proper bike racing.

A lot of effort for about 10 seconds gain!

Well, not quite how I expected it to happen, but happen it certainly did!
Another psychological kick in the nuts for Quintana and co.

Superb stuff! At last we got some excitement on the stage.

Small gains perhaps for Froome, but its all sticking it to Nairo, eh?
The time gains are smallish so far but it must be giving Movistar a lot to think about... they can never be sure if Sky are going to try something unexpected.

Hah true enough... I guess more rare after a couple of mountain stages though!

Is this sensible from Froome? I think he's expending a lot of energy for not a lot of gain.
On the other hand it can be useful to give to legs a bit of a work out. A week and a half of trundling along without ever riding near the limit can 'detrain' a rider.

Was Sagan trying to gift that to Bodnar until Froome launched his sprint?

Noted that G sat up, either knackered or to take himself out as he wouldn't want to rob Froome of any bonuses - absolute stellar team mate! 8)

That was good racing, it shows who the true racers are and how strong / confident Froome must be.

Froome demonstrates again he's much too strong for Quintana. He must be feeling good otherwise he wouldn't expend that sort of energy with the next two days coming up.

I think he'll want to win the stage tomorrow and finally put some real time between himself and the rest of the field. He's riding like a real champion and showing true panache.

If he wasn't part of the conversation it's not really his fault is it?

Froomes racing for time not to cuddle up to someone else's team mate.

I'd love to bump the Sagan is overrated thread... be interesting to see how many opinions have changed. He's certainly having a decent year as World Champion.

You can almost feel the effort... I didn't think Thomas was going to make it at first, he did really well to get there!

Looked to me like he was part of the conversation. Even if not, it eas blatantly obvious what the right thing to do was in those circumstances especially as he was only ever going to be made to look ridiculous in a sprint against Sagan.

If Sagan wanted to gift the win, he had to guarantee Froome second. He can't expect Froome to give up bonus seconds.
