Quite an eventful day, tried the new jump run and it was great, managed to sprain my shoulder so I'm now bloody one armed bandit and also had a chat with Manon Carpenter who is a lovely lass.

    Crash?
Yep, a jump on the new Enter the Dragon track caught me out.

So Stevo went to Wales and took a shine to a lass with bigger balls than any of us. Being probably the biggest jessie of us all I'm clearly in no position to laugh but this is the CC so never let facts get in the way of taking the p!ss.
Hard day yesterday but it went as well as could be. Still don't know what they can do for the old man or how long he's got, but at least it hasn't spread too far. Bit of excitement as I saw a moped gang rushing off having broken into a car then smashed the window of another car that started hooting at them. Unfortunately too far away to do anything about it but apparently they were laughing as they rode off. No number plates and balaclavas under their crash helmets. The only solution is to drive at the little scrotes.
Anyway, lazy day today. At least I hope so.

And she can ride downhill like the wind...

It's annoying how easy they make it look.

She cleared the qualifying gap jump on the run where we saw her with feet to spare.

Good day downhill riders and uphill gardeners,

Got a poorly hen here so she's in solitary while i youtube humane dispatch! Will see what happens there. In other news we had a deer charging around the garden this morning, it found it's way out eventually but had the hunt hounds after it.

    Chicken dinner tonight?

    Evening Wasters,

My shoulder is still farked but not quite as farked as it was yesterday, which is good. May even be able to ride the roadie bike to work later this week if all goes well. A day of many jobs and a bit of time wasting has been had. Just trying to forget its Monday tomorrow.

    Morning twunts,
Bit chilly out there this morning, managed to pedal in and very glad I did, the park was particularly scenic and the roads were full of cars. Fun and games in the retail office as there was nearly fisticuffs between the manager and one of the guys. Storm in a teacup makes it sound like a bigger deal than it actually was. Obviously it would be wrong of us to take the p!ss from this side of the partition, so we are absolutely ripping it. I'm expecting another hissy fit and storming out before the day is done.
Did Stevo ride the hybrid in today? Definitely a day for warm gloves.

Good day walkers, workers, shirkers and assorted alkys!

Poorly chicken seems to have pulled through so my intended euthenasia practice is on hold.

Been out in the veg plot digging up spuds this morning and the last row will hopefully be finished this afternoon. Post digging a few thousand milligrams of ibruprofen, an hour in the shower and a large bottle of red wine are seriously on the cards!

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you a story my old man told me a few years back. When he was a kid they stayed on a farm and he was tasked with wringing a chicken's neck so they could have it for dinner. Eager to please he ripped it's head clean off and dropped the chicken which ran off a little way before falling over more than a bit dead. He was quite upset by this and didn't eat any of the chicken.
Good news is the old man is being released from hospital, unfortunately for the chicken it is still dead.

I'm reporting you and TLW for being hybrid-ist.

I am still doing an impression of a one armed bandit so am staying off the bike and on the nurofen for a few days. May have to go for a run tonight to make up for it  Once I've finished torturing numbers and beating up tax auditors, that is.

Farm animal related anecdote: We used to have friends who lived in the sticks in East Yorkshire and let the local farmer use their field to graze cattle as it saved them mowing it. After a few years the farmer gave them a couple of bullocks by way of a thank you, which they kept in the field. Knowing their eventual fate, they christened them Bovril and Oxo.

A few people i have spoken to have also mentioned they have done this! One youtube video demonstrates how to kill them using a broom handle across their neck, this also resulted in a head off scenario.

Maybe if i threaten to put the poor chicken on a hybrid bike it'll die of embarrassment!

It might get murdered by angry roadie tw@ts that it passes and humiliates.

Morning hybrid riders and real men,

Day spent digging spuds yesterday hopefully means a quieter one today but i doubt it, trees to trim, party barn to sort, grass to mow, beds to make etc etc.

To truly humiliate roadies pass them on a 20 year old MTB with rumbly tyres and a plastic aeroplane on the handlebars, or even better on the EPO's 50 year old shopping bike complete with basket on the front. Only problem is maintaining that level of speed for very long on either of them.
    Morning ditch dwellers,
The old man is home so popped over to visit the 'rents last night. He was happy to be home and the old dear was happy to be fussing over him. Had to drive in this morning as we've got the girl child's parents evening later. I might have to read the riot act to one of the science teachers. She's gone from being star pupil to being in trouble in less than a term, the only thing that's changed is the teacher. You don't need to be a scientist to work that one out.
Party barn sounds like it should be a good thing, then you realise it's bg's party barn.
There should be cakes and nibbles provided by the company later today, hopefully not too much rabbit food.

It's probably a bit like Zeke's basement in 'Pulp Fiction'.

Somebody dumped a load of Mars Bars, Snickers, Toffee Crisps, Crunchies etc in the office today so I'm a bit sugared out just now. So much for my new healthy eating regime :)

An apple and cream turnover, a pain au chocolate, a chocolate twist, a pain au raisin and a couple of jumbo cookies down and I'm not sure if I feel like eating my lunch.
I need to ride my bike a lot more.

    Afternoon tubbies,

Thought I'd give an update on how my day is going and totally deny that I have any kind of gimp like creature in the barn.......unless it's me!

I appear to be in the grip,of some form of manflu/manthrax, there is so much fluid coming out of my nose and the wife wants all the beds sorted for our party guests!

    Merde!

    You fat bastard :)

I only managed two toffee crisps, two crunchies and a packet of Skittles.

    Afternoon cockwombles,
I was feeling a bit slow on the bike this morning, nothing to do with all those cakes I'm sure. I've just had mushroom soup for lunch in a feeble attempt to be good. Was just reading a bit of news and thought it was all a bit crazy so in the search of some sense I discovered this and thought "plus potato"
I do believe it is Wednesday so the pub will be visited later.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Maybe with some of V68's greatest potatoes.

I'm off home to dog sit and work from home, which is a fair bit better than the alternative of going to a parents evening.

Having done the parents evening last night I'd say there were some perks, unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures without getting into trouble. Fortunately the girl is doing quite well so good reports from all but one, had a bit of a go at the one as it seems odd that she was doing well until the teacher changed.
So what are you having bg? Coq au vin?

She's doing very well all round apparently, so we're treating ourselves to take away pizza tonight (of the genuine, pizza parlour run by Italians variety). I'll treat myself to cider as well :)

    Morning receivers of swollen goods,

Unfortunately the poor chicken had some illness so it got binned!

In the full grip of manflu but got too much graft on, shopping! Mowing and decanting sixty odd litres of what i hope is cider but there's a chance it'll be cider vinegar.

    Enjoy your working days.

I wonder how the chicken got sick? Probably spent too much time in the party barn with bg. I strongly suspect bg doesn't have manflu but bird flu, more likely a dose of bird clap as well.
Traditional Thursday morning hangover is very much in evidence today, it was a slow ride in through the gloom. I thought it was my head but it turns out it was actually foggy out. Onwards and upwards...
