    What's the profile?

    25010727194_a73d741734_b.jpg

Profile for today is a little boring - it is the TTT along the esplanade - so flat as a pancake

    25641268495_bae3db0fb5_b.jpg
The route is that of the TTT that could not be raced in 2015 due to the damage caused by bad weather. The stage is composed of two virtually straight sectors, rolling along the two lanes of the same road. Halfway is a slightly more intricate and complicated “turning point”. The stage course runs straight for 9.5 km, and then gets to the turning point in Forte dei Marmi, where split time is taken. The route then runs on narrowed roadway, takes two left-hand 90-degree turns leading back to the Forte dei Marmi promenade 14 km before the finish, then leads back to Lido di Camaiore. The last 5 kilometres roll along flat, straight roads (southbound). With 1,200 metres to the finish, a right/left S-shaped curve on narrowed roadway, leading to the 1-km long home stretch, marks the only complication. The finish line is on 6.5-m wide, asphalted roadway.

Movistar kick off at 13:45 local and Astana are last to go at 15:35 local. From all appearances it will be blisteringly fast - not sure what the weather is doing and if that can throw a spanner in the works

Congrats to Nibali in advance of his win (assuming no disqualifications of course) .

Having spent the weekend watching Cav, Viviani and Gaviria on the track it is going to be a bit strange seeing them on the Italian roads a couple of days later.

They've been putting effort into improving their TTing, both individually and as a team. Visits to a UK wind tunnel have helped I guess. It's surprsing how late a lot of the southern European teams have been in sorting out thier time trialing and some of them are still set in their ways.

Garmindale in recent years has history for this, let's face it

    CAMAIORE to POMARANCE
207 km a few lumps with a nasty kicker in the last few k

    Rollout 10:55 local

deleted cos Rick already posted them

Worth looking at the small print - that red marked hill on the way into Pomarance says max 18%

Depends how deep Sagan wants to go but if he's up for it then they'll do well to distance him.
