Snow forecast in Gent this afternoon. But not going to stick.

As far as I can see it will be on the BIKE channel (552 on Virgin) from 13:15 to 15:45 on Saturday.

If Pro Tour Pundits are to be believed then we should all pile in at 18/1 on Benoot

PTP pundits would do well to pick the bookie's favourite for every race.

It's my usual tactic, unless I don't like them, in which case I start moving down the list to find someone who has good odds and I like.

Bit of a wheelsuckers way of choosing though isn't it, I would much prefer to back an outsider, to show some courage and some panache, fewer victories but more chance to savour each one. Except when it's flat and Kittel is riding

Yeah, maybe, but depends how much I care about the race and whether someone I like has odds that aren't astronomical.
  • I've entered the murky world of Freesat in preparation for Saturday afternoon - slightly surprised to find the previous owner's satellite dish works.
  • So how to you pronounce the name of this race? Like, phonetically?

    Is it like... "Ohm-loop het Nee-yoos-blad" ??

    Hat.

To the original question, yes, you're about right. Het Neiuwsblad is the name of the paper that spnsors the race, It used to be called Het Volk

Sorry - the lack was bothering me. This is from inrng - but not sure where he got it from. Looks very similar to those on a fantasy site for previous years.

  • It's a beautiful morning in East Flanders! Dry and still and not too cold.

Luke Rowe, the thinking man's Stannard, is going to win this race. Trauma counsellors on stand-by for GVA and the entire EQS squad.

Not going to get a chance to watch this year :(

Will have to console myself with attending the opening of a new Belgian beer bar, specialising in Lambic /Gueuze. :-)

The end of the cobbles season has begun :(

Really hoping Luke Rowe has another jump forward this year.
  • I am following in work, as I'm going straight out after and can't do the Likely Lads all day...
  • 60km done this morning, time to get settled in for this. Love this part of the season!
  • I went for Rowe in PTP, but I think Theuns could do something today.

I have Rowe in my FSA fantasy team so hoping he'll be up there. He's riding again tomorrow, which always seems crazy to me.
