He's 38... and been hanging out at Androni Giocattoli
Ironically his withdrawal from the 2010 Giro allowed Nibs to be drafted in and get his first GT podium place...0 -

Lieuwe Westra has announced his retirement tonight.0

Shame. I though he might be able to do another Gaspa at Wanty. What the issue with his agent Chasey? Can't see much on this in english yet...0
-
Lawsuit with his former brother in law who I think was his ex agent....
He's complained about being lonely in Monaco, divorce, living out of a suitcase, big crashes of friends in the peloton. He was good mates with Stig Broeckx and I know that his accident and subsequent coma put the shakes in Lieuwe.

Alex Peters to return to SEG Racing Academy for 2017 season.
Alex Peters and Team Sky have agreed that Alex will return to the SEG Racing Academy for the 2017 season.
Alex said: “I’ve had a tough time recently and struggled with some personal issues that have made it difficult for me to give the team, and my cycling career, my full commitment. Having spoken to the team and those around me, we’ve agreed together that I will return to the SEG Racing Academy.
“I do feel like I will be making a step back to make strides forward. I’ve learned an enormous amount and I’m keen to succeed as a cyclist over the long term at the top level. I’m looking forward to continuing my development.
“I would like to thank everyone at Team Sky for their support.”
Team Sky wish Alex all the best in the future.Twitter: @RichN950 -
2 reminders there that this is just a sport, and life comes in first ahead o everything.
All the best to Lieuwe and Alex0 -
Paul Voss retires after being unable to find a team for 2017. Which is a shame, he comes across as being a very switched on guy.0
