    Rowe was badly positioned on that climb, made up a lot of distance on the climb itself and would almost certainly have been in the front group had he been at the front when it kicked off. I'm pretty sure he tried to jump out of the bunch as well at the very end so he must have felt like he had some racing left in him which bodes well for the next couple of weekends.

    Sporza commentator critical about this, almost immediately after his comments half the motos pulled out of the gap between the bunch (or what was left of it) and the break. Difficult balance between getting the coverage we want and a sensible approach to providing a decent working environment for everyone involved (moto pilots, photographers and journos as well as riders). Don't quite get why UCI has a bad weather protocol, but hasn't effectively dealt with this issue.
