PFP buggered her knee in January I think and so is taking some time to come back too. I'm not sure if she is planning on road or MTB though (both for Rio I suspect)
PFP made comeback from injury in Strade Binachi and finished 11th. Missed the weekend race through illness:
Rabobank - Liv @RaboLiv Mar 18
Sad news: @FERRANDPREVOT won't start @TrofeoBinda due to illness. @anouskakoster will substitute her. #RaboLiv #TrofeoAlfredoBinda0 -

I really really hope not. I trust the likes of Lizzie has enough reason not to fear her any more and to trust on her own awesomeness0 -
The ladies Ronde goes live here, in about half an hour:

I'm very please to say that even though I find PFP all sorts of lovely, in a race situation on the Kwaremont I only have eyes (and a bellow) for LIzzie!
Classy win, even the p1ssed Belgians in our cabbage field were impressedWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Have to say, I much prefer proper Women's only events than Women's events tagged onto the men's.
Plenty of annoyance on twitter when sporza flipped over to the women's race, and I can kinda see why. If you're settled down to watch the mens and have already been watching it for 90 minutes and you have leave it for an hour it's a bit irritating.
It means you're never really paying attention to either because you have one eye on the other. Seems in the UK there was a lot of annoyance that the coverage split so late, which is equally problematic.0 -
I dig your vibe but I think it's a case of every little helps for women's cycling. Think of the dinosaurs in Cake Stop, it's people like those that need to be turned and realise there is a genuinely good race to watch AS WELL AS the mens. CX has shown that if you show it, people will come
I think the "Women's Tour" attitude of trying to start events that will become equal to the TdF or the RVV is ultimatly the right way to really go about it though. But the Ronde is such an Iconic event that any women's race will always be a big deal. See also the Giro Rosa. We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I was lucky, having backed up my Sporza recording with Eurosport and their 3rd rate commentator.
I would have been well peed otherwise, upon my return. Imagine the average Belgian, stuck in an engagement and Sporza on record for it's only airing.
Almost 90 minutes taken out of the guts of the men's race.
I know it's the complete U turn for them and we have all moaned about the lack of coverage in the past, but that was overkill.
I've now watched the 45kms the aired and have to say it wasn't great. Simply because it's the same elimination process, but without the depth of quality as with the men."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

I think the women like being tagged on to the big events - they get to race with a big crowd.
Ultimately they just want good races and some coverage.Twitter: @RichN950 -

The Womens Tour starts tomorrow, 5 stages in all concludes on Sunday, highlights everynight on ITV4 9:30, Stage 1 is Southwold to Norwich, fairly flat but the changeable weather may make it more unpredictable, more details at http://www.womenstour.co.uk/0

Was at the finish in Norwich yesterday, and like a good fanboy got two copies of ProCycling signed by Lizzie and Marianne  ;can confirm that Lizzie is cooler than a very cool thing and that Marianne looked like she had a monk on(didn't catch it but other half said she got baulked at the last turn in the sprint-didn't catch it as I was trying to take pics).Ridley Helium SL (Dura-Ace/Wheelsmith Aero-dimpled 45 wheels)
