Anyone know of a live stream for Le Samyn de Dames tomorrow? Quite keen on watching as my daughter is riding! :)
  • Very surprised to see no postings regarding this unless they're hidden elsewhere

A pity she didn't beat Jeannie Longo's record as IMHO that must have a degree of uncertainty about it given what happened subsequently (and before)

Nice to have a world standard cross racer to throw up the road eh?

Watching Lizzie I found myself wondering about her hair. That long pony tail can't be very aero. I noticed that Laura Trot keeps hers tucked up under her helmet on the track.

If it's good enough for Laurent Brochard...

The Ronde van Drenthe is being shown on RTV Drenthe today. If you google it you can find a stream (not georestricted apparently - why would they keep it "local").

Channel 503 if you re on KPN AtC

Edit - Lizzie is already out after 53km "feeling sick"

4 riders from 4 teams away (trixi worrack, Anna v.d. Breggen, Gracie Elvin and Blaaki). The wigglettes are chasing but getting no help

Whooop and I ve just got a mention on Sarah Connoly's commentary feed - http://mixlr.com/prowomenscycling/ - she's been doing it for about 10 mins and she is already better than Carlton Kirby...

The Wigglettes have pulled off having been a combination of not helped to actively blocked by the other teams. 30km to go and it seems likely that the break will come from the break

Gap now 2 mins (apparently)...this is like the reverse of a normal stage....

Large chunks of Sarah's commentary would not get through our swear filter...

Gracie Elvin opens the long sprint up but Chantal Blaak overhauls her on the line. Yet another win for Boels Doorman

A well taken win from a group of essentially non-sprinters

    Bronzini best of the rest

Proof of the curse of the rainbow jersey.

(Extrapolating a single data point with no reference to context is proof in cycling)

Seriously though, she's approaching Vos levels of dominance now.

Whilst Vos and PFP are out...yes

I don't want to take anything away from here but she is also blessed by having a fantastic team. BD are 4 from 4 FFS! Jolanda Neff (for example) is basically racing on her own by way of comparison.

May I suggest, to the disgust of some, that PFP is a little overrated. Last year all she won was the French nationals and a single stage of the Giro Donne. She's only won six races outside the French champs. But she's still young, so we'll see.

    ???

And the CX world Champs, an MTB World Cup, having had to build grid position from nowhere and the MTB World Champs but yeah, overrated

What is PFP up to this year?

Lizzie's in great form. And it seems her big rivals aren't quite there... Wiggle seem to have internal team issues. Vos returning but not there yet... etc.

From what ive seen, Vos is slowly making her way back (trying to avoid the issues the kept her out last year)

PFP buggered her knee in January I think and so is taking some time to come back too. I'm not sure if she is planning on road or MTB though (both for Rio I suspect)

I think there is a major focus on peaking for Rio for most of the peloton

Well she says she has planned a Bi-peaked season as it were. RVV and Rio
