Everybody still wants to be one of the sad gits sent up the road for chase fodder.

There's always one who survives and makes it to the end with the big boys...

Devolder putting in a huge dig to make the break..!

Need to be a bit careful given the tailwind...last time there was a big big tailwind O'Grady won from the break.

Eurosport have swapped Rob Hatch out for Declan Quigley. Will Sean have the stamina to go all day while his partners swap in and out to keep up with him?

The quality of actual race commentary today from this duo is staggering compared when compared to Kirby.

In fairness, my own farts compare quite favourably to Kirby commentary ;).

Looks like this could be the break of the day. 22 riders.

Biggest riders there: Stuyven and Devolder!

RVV noise: read somewhere that the Tajeneberg is to be renamed "Boonenberg", seems fair :-)

My 10 month old son is obviously inspired by the athleticism on display. Just changed his 4th poopy nappy since the race started!

I don't think that will be the case today.

Time to start again. Next chancers on your marks, get set....

20 kms to the pave and still the race hasn't settled down.
Ervitti in there again, this week, if this one sticks.

Has Sagan made it back on? If he has why are Ettix burning matches so early?

  • Slightly off topic, but any recommendations for good bars to watch the race on TV in Roubaix itself? We're in the centre having lunch after riding the 170km route yesterday and ideally want to find somewhere within walking distance of the velodrome.

Fwiw coming from an amateur first timer, the Arenberg was very wet and muddy yesterday - and it chucked it down for a good couple of hours last night (albeit we were in Lille by then).
