Thanks for sharing the link. Some great shots but thankfully no cold shower scenes.

It's rare I get a little something in my eye during a story about an Aussie sportsman winning but this was truly one for the good guys!

    Great sportsmanship from Tommeke too

Yeah, I spotted that from Boonen as well, sounded genuine, even though he must have been completely gutted.

Ja look, Boonen's always been a sociable friendly guy.

He's in the twilight of his career and he's won a lot, so he has the perspective to be genuinely nice to someone who's worked hard at the race they both put above all others.

True, major SanneFaces from Boonen and Stannard show how much it meant to them

Fair play, that's brilliant. Reminded me (as if I needed reminding) what an absolutely fantastic race we saw yesterday.

    And Boonen is just class.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Brilliant backstage pass from OGE, love the bit at the end from Hayman about his tactics. Seem like a genuinely great team to be a part of.

Cracking backstage pass. Love where he's just saying "it doesn't happen" over and over :)

Working from home tomorrow - might watch the whole race again :):)

Look how close that bike runs to the rider on the floor at the Fabs crash. Must have been inches from his hand. What a joke.

    What's he supposed to do?

Not be that close in the first place, it's a photo bike.

You'll not be looking at any photos from the race then? It's not possible to stop 300kg of bike in the amount of time it takes a falling cyclist to stop. He does bloody well there to find a place where he doesn't hit anyone leaving a clear line for those behind. There's a debate to be had about following bikes and cars, the number of them etc but just calling every near miss a joke is just kneejerk stuff that doesn't address any of the issues.

    Ah, look moite?

Decent. And a marked contrast with the atmosphere provided by the piece Belgie TV had following Boonen's brother around all day. In place of "It doesn't happen", Tomekke had "Ah jong! Fupp!"

In my opinion, the bike should always be far enough away from the last rider in the group that it has sufficient time to stop if said rider hits the ground. That also is me addressing the issues.

It's also not kneejerk, I've thought about it a lot. This is just another example, remember Viviani was hit by a bike. This is now a common experience in pro cycling. Also a cyclist died in a similar situation (where there had been a crash and was then hit by a bike). I think motos should all be a safe distance away at all times.

Seen this and other type things banded about:

    Mikkel Condé v2.0 ‏@mrconde 5h5 hours ago
Had it been a 37 yo Russian with only 1 pro win, broken arm a month prior, in break all day & still stronger than all the top favorites...

Well yeah this forum is as guilty as any for being biased re doping.

Roubaix is a race noted for rewarding experience and aged first time winners, however

The Asylum is comparing him to Chris Horner. Although someone there was also saying he was on the front of the break all day as well which is patently untrue.

A bit depressing but I can kind of see their point. However he'd had a couple of top tens at P-R before and it was hardly a dominant victory. I don't really know enough to judge, but in the absence of any actual evidence I'm happy to take it at face value.

It's as spurious as any other doping chat, but some of the spurious doping chat here is accepted, usually when referring to Non-English speaking, non-North Europeans.

    FACT.

    What are you defending against?

    No-one on here's accusing Hayman.

I'm just pointing out it's curious how where the rider is from has such a large bearing on the level of spurious forum suspicion.
