I assume the asylum is more mental than usual?

Yes. Yes it is0 -

Don't think you can ever please them. As we all know they are all on PEDs except when they know they will be tested and so stop0 -

Not GB riders though, dont have to stop, as Cookson will ensure they get a free pass. Except JTL, he was sacrificed for appearances.2020/2021/2022 Metric Century Challenge Winner0 -

Any two bodies attract each other with a force directionally proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them?0 -
One third of the clinic is saying how weight loss would be irrelevant to resuts anyway
One third just think that's proof that he is on AICAR
One third are trying to re calculate the figures based on their imaginary weight for him at the Tour
Intelligent as ever then...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Surely all this VO2 max stuff is a bit old hat. I'd be more interested how Froome, Farah etc. became so thin. Something Dr. Ferrari has also expressed interest in.0

Not eating very much?0 -
I think maybe even a PE teacher could think of ways to lose weight without using drugs...0

Weight lost irrelevant to results, eh? Thats proper brilliant, that is0 -

The test was done just after the Tour so surely the weight is pretty much bang on.
Did the blood passport data include is haematocrit level ?0 -

i'm trying to shed a few before Crimbo. I'll just fork out for some clen or AICAR then. And STILL get to eat red velvet cake every day. Easy peasy.
Pls, not this old bollox about 'how can you shed some weight and not lose power'

Oh and my absolute favourite, Radcliffe and Froome are too big to fail but Rusian Athletics aren't... Not enough emoticons for how much that made me laugh...
whaaaaaaaaaa....??0 -

And is there any actual evidence that Aicar actually does anything (on humans not rats). I was lead to believe that it's usefulness is a bit of a myth.Twitter: @RichN950 -

I did a little bit of reading around about AICAR (in journals not news websites) when I first heard about it on the asylum, and I didn't see much in the way of actual human testing (although I am no expert and may have totally missed it all!).
From what I can see it's just something that lot are clinging to now EPO's not the be all and end all.0 -

I presume the thoery is that he should have been time-trialling like Cancellara in 2007, based on his power?0 -

Would have been the standard way for him to have achieved something. his transformation, such as it is, makes sense. he wanted to be a climber, so he lost weight...0 -

They've been testing for AICAR since the last 00s. No one has tested positive for years IIRC. Its bloody easy to detect. Even the ones who tested pozzie took it cos it was the latest new thang rather than cast-iron evidence of its efficacy on humans.
As you say, its a life-line for the 'they're all at it' mentality0 -
The clinic are clutching at straws, for anything, to justify their own thoughts.
What they don't seem to be able to rationalise is the fact that if he was so good back then why he wasn't Sky's leader.
Says it all really.0 -
What I find surprising is the lack of value the Clinic lot give to Froome's stunted development as a pro cyclist because of his missing out the Junior ranks in Europe. The races he rode in Africa were short and he lacked peloton nouse - both would have put hurdles in his way and that's before you consider he was also a fat cyclist. Fat, unused to long races and tactically naive - not the ingredients for instant success.0

The main takeaway from the clinic is how on earth anyone can actually follow what they say, especially when they start jabbering about numbers.
They seem to know what all the numbers mean (seem...) and then process them through some horrendously biased assumptions.
"Report says x. We all know that anything X-3 is doping, so he is".
No we don't know X-3 is doping, nor do I know why you've spent so much time knowing what all this stuff means.0 -

The truth is that none of them can afford to lose any face.0 -

Can't afford it? What's at stake? Internet pride?
In some cases their raison d'etre.0 -

doesn't the fact that we see riders having off days now prove we have a cleaner peloton ?
Never heard anyone say anything bad about Froome so im willing to believe he is clean, same with Wiggins0 -
This from Ned Boulting made me laugh:
@nedboulting: Does @chrisfroome have special software fitted that knows when he's being tested? #emissionsTwitter: @RichN950
