But does it treat COVID better than disinfectant? 😉
    Probably not.

Isn't the onus on the defendant to prove their claim is true rather than the plaintiff to prove it is false?

Did you read it? It's not about the senate or politicians.

    Nevermind, I shouldn't have bothered.

Must. Stop. Expecting. People. To. Read.

You can't expect people to read every article posted up. Read it yourself give a summary of the salient points (or quote the salient them) and link the article. If you can't then it should be committed to room 101 as waffle.

I think that's too much to expect of Rick.

yes, correct but since when has that mattered to trumpers?

that dude has been torn to shreds on his own twitter feed anyhow, so that's that.

Giuliani was waffling about counter suing though, so this may drag on and on and on and Dominion.....

Its mental isn't. Question is, where do they all find time to have such mad mental lives? I barely have time to go out on my bicycle let alone be an undercover FBI double agent inbetween doing prison time and running a racist right wing organisation.

Do you think they all have horribly complicated personal calendars?

i was in the southern usa in the 80s, found myself in the company of a normal looking person who insisted on explaining to me that the antichrist had risen in europe, salvation was only through being 'born again' and there was going to be a war against the evil

soon i was deciding which nearby objects would be the most effective weapons, he went away before i needed to find out

40-50 years on, it's much much worse

religious-right extremists in the usa are far more dangerous and insidious than the loser nutbags like pb, qa, etc. who i'm sure they see as useful tools, there's a fair few in state/national government, they are well funded with real power and influence

One suspects that there must be quite a lot of this stuff known by US security agencies, and quite a few people in those agencies, having kept a low profile during the Trump 'presidency' will be keen now to act on information, given his apparent devotion to Putin and his attempts to undermine investigations. That the FBI is making such an effort to bring Jan 6th perps to justice is encouraging (whilst the GOP efforts to whitewash it all is less so).

Meanwhile, #jewishspacelaser has been trending on Twitter.

It should be funny but I actually find it quite scary that people in positions of power can come out with this kind of stuff.

Sadly, I don't think this will make any difference, since the GOP seems to be a total Trump cult now, but it seems that Trump doesn't have any legal representation for his impeachment trial, as he wants his defence to be that the election was rigged.

it will make for entertaining reading and possibly TV and a mini series with a cameo ALA home alone
  • Why is he bothering? Just don't show up, don't send a defence team and he'll still get acquitted. The Republicans have settled on "he's not president, he can't be tried now for the impeachment that happened when he was".

They're still really scared of him (or whichever of his kids he sends out in 2024 as a proxy in the event of him being barred).

It'll be interesting to see what evidence the prosecution can come up with in the meantime... one hopes that the security services are doing a bit of overtime making it awkward for the Republicans to acquit. I was going to say "embarrassing", but I think that's an emotion they don't possess any more.
  • Ironically? I think the only defence he could raise that might get him convicted is the one that he wants to use.

It's bizarre seeing someone like Kevin McCarthy blame Trump the day after 6 Jan, but a week or two later, he's back under Trump's thumb. It seems that even without Twitter, he has some magical power over them. It is extraordinary.

Because his fan base are their voting base.

They give any slight, perceived or real, to him and their voting base walks away.

And yet if they could be bothered to find their spines the evidence is to the contrary.
The Trump supporters may not like the representative for the republicans if they vote against Trump but will still not vote Democrat.
