I personally think it's great idea Trump is trying to bill China 160 Billion dollars for the damaged caused by Covid19. Once they receive the money they can then give it straight to Vietnam for the damage cause by 'Agent Orange'.

Yes Westerners claiming reparations is errrr...thin ice, to put it mildly.

The vast majority of all Governments will have been just as bad and it has to be taken in the context of the time. My point was merely the hypocrisy.

Surely that was Rick's point, too?

Yeah sure, I wasn't having a go at Rick. I guess I was just trying to stress I wasn't having a go at America or the West. I know the vast majority of Countries/Governments will have a checkered passed.

I try not to judge too much, It's a mugs game to me. There will always be somebody with a valid point who can kick my feet from under me.

He seems to see the virus as yet another unwanted immigrant that is going to get sent home by the authorities.

As most people will have probably seen in some form before doing the social media rounds

Just imagine if a bunch of Britain First idiots tried to walk into the City Hall armed with rifles... Would anyone think twice before describing them as terrorists?

What I loved about a similar story from Kentucky earlier in the year is that you have to go through metal detectors on the way in. But if you are carrying a gun, you get to bypass it.

Why the blistering f*** are you allowed to take a gun anywhere near a state legislature?

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Not sure the 'founding fathers' envisaged future nutjobs carrying military grade assault weaponry into legislative places under their 'right to bear arms'.

I think they did but the idea was they could defend the new nation against the dastardly imperialistic Brits (and military grade was a bit different back then).

WOW. A weird thought just passed through my head. After following this topic for a while it would seem that "The Don" has replaced Lance Armstrong as the most hated man in England. Or is there British citizen over there that is more hated than either or both of them?

Mate, @dennisn , you went pretty quiet when Trump had his ‘disinfectant moment’.

Can you see why most Brits think he is moronic yet?

Maybe medicine might not interest you, but it's still worth not having someone who once chopped up a dead rabbit (badly) doing heart surgery on you, should you ever need it.

The difference is that you can vote for politicians. Best not to choose the most ignorant & corrupt ones, because one day you might need some expertise.

I'll grant you that we're not doing too well on that front in the UK either...

Amazes me that people can not see they are reading from the same playbook. They just differ in style but neither has any substance past being positive, ignoring the facts and regularly claiming victory.

The USA is lucky because it has a more robust constitution

It remains to be seen if the 'robust' constitution recovers from the full frontal assault Trump & his puppeteers have launched on it. Even if stuff is written down, it still needs those who should uphold it to uphold it. And given that American judges (the supposedly third co-equal partner in the separation of powers) are political appointees, and Trump/McConnell have been stuffing the courts with as many staunch Republicans as they can, regardless of qualification in many cases, I'd not be too sure of the outcome.
