Well if we're going to be flippant about it, maybe we should use humour?

Take Hamza, he wanted to be remembered as a radical enemy of the state, instead he's remembered as a novelty household item.

The male suicide bombers getting 70 odd virgins is well documented. What do the female suicide bombers get?
Was going to google it, but thought better not. So real or creative ideas welcome.

Maybe we should point out to the male members of ISIS that the 70-odd virgins might be fat sweaty blokes. That could help.

    Breaking news:

    "British Suicide Bombers on Strike!

Suicide bombers in Britain are set to begin a three-day strike next Monday in a dispute over the number of virgins they are entitled to in the afterlife. Emergency talks with Al Qaeda have so far failed to produce an agreement.

The unrest began last Tuesday when Al Qaeda Central announced that the number of virgins a suicide bomber would receive after his death will be cut by 25%, from 72 to only 54, effective immediately. The rationale for the cut was the increase in recent years of the number of suicide bombings and the subsequent shortage of virgins in the afterlife, coupled with other factors contributing to a decline in the virgin supply. The suicide bombers' union, the British Organization of Occupational Martyrs (or BOOM) responded with a statement that this was unacceptable to its members and immediately balloted for strike action. General Secretary Mustapha Fook told the press, "Our members are literally working themselves to death in the cause of Jihad. We don't ask for much in return but to be treated like this is like a kick in our teeth."

Speaking from his shed in Tipton in the West Midlands in which he currently resides, Al Qaeda chief executive Abu Hamsa explained, "We sympathize with our workers' concerns but Al Qaeda is simply not in a position to meet their demands. They are simply not accepting the realities of modern-day Jihad in a competitive marketplace and a difficult economy. Thanks to Western depravity, there is now a chronic shortage of virgins in the afterlife, which is not helped by the downturn in the economy which is driving virgins to cash in their chastity. It's a straight choice between reducing expenditure and laying people off. I don't like cutting compensation, but I'd hate to have to tell 3000 of my staff that they won't be able to blow themselves up."

Spokespersons for the union in Newcastle, Middlesborough, Wales and the entire Australian continent stated that the strike would not affect their operations as "There are no virgins in our areas anyway."

Apparently the drop in the number of suicide bombings has also been attributed to the emergence and popularity of that Scottish singing star, Susan Boyle. Now that Muslims know what a virgin looks like, they are less keen on rushing to paradise."

As has been pointed out before, Susan Boyle is a virgin.
Carpet bomb photos. That should put an end to the troubles.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Here is a question that gets right to the heart of the problem.

Why not simply bomb the ISIS controlled oil fields and refineries?

Why not go the whole hog and get the source?
Fields and refineries? Should be easy targets and low collateral, if any.

That is very good, although I suspect that Pinno has doctored the 'virgin free' locations as well to suit his target audience

was watching the news this morning and the so called 'mastermind' behind the terror was referred to a number of times as "The Isis poster boy"... surely he should have ben referred to as the "mass murderer" or "Psychopathic Terrorist" or some other such descriptor and definitely not as a "poster boy"? or am I being politically incorrect? :?

Calling him the "ISIS poster boy" is quite subtle, in a way. Wouldn't they preferred to be called "mass murderer?" Then their retort could be, "no, Western Infidel scum, you are the murderers, dropping your bombs on our country"
In the war of words, how do they respond to something like "poster boy"?

    Nope - wrong descriptor

Fair enough. Personally, I would like it reported as neutrally as possible. Like "person blows up bomb" or "criminal fires gun into crowd". Deny them the oxygen of publicity. One person's terrorist is another's freedom fighter and all that.
The irony of this being discussed (and therefore publicity) is not lost on me.

You can't put an ideology against the wall and shoot it dead.

It's a multi faceted approach which should be aimed at addressing some of the drivers for recruitment and radicalisation as well as militarially.

True. But decent moderate Muslim preachers could do more to combat it.

    CUCord2WEAEFGxj.jpg

There have been many documented instances of young Muslim men being 'radicalised' (That's the buzzword isn't it?) in mosques. As there are only Muslims in the mosques, they are the only ones that can bring any influence to bear.

Bally - I don't think multiculturalism isn't without its faults and problems, but no one has committed atrocities in the name of multiculturalism. It's fundamentally an open and peaceful position to take.

I would strongly suggest that those terrorists are literally as far away from multiculturalism as possible, and an attitude that multiculturalism is somehow evil is missing the point. The problem is more that those who are included in the multiculturalism don't necessarily believe in it.

I'd say therefore the issue is not enough multiculturalism, not too much.

You are falling into the trap ISIS et all set up.

They fear our unity and they seek to divide us, as a united liberal democratic bloc is undefeatable by barbarism and tyranny.

I would remind you ISIS are most brutal and deadly to other believers in Islam, so to posit the issue as an Islam vs the West again misses the point entirely.

It's an odd position to take though Bally.

It's like most people in the UK want to make sure all their responsibility absolved.

I don't remember clamours for people of the various Christian churches to sort out their own kind during the troubles in Ireland - which did spill over into terrorism.

I don't remember calls about the KKK in America, suggesting those churches should take more responsibility.

Smacks of discrimination Bally, and it isn't becoming.

    Rick.
Seeing as you are espousing the virtues of multiculturalism. Do you think it is the responsibility of the migrant to integrate with the culture of the country he chooses to settle in? Yes or No.
Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.

Yeah of course they bear some responsibility - bear in mind I am an immigrant myself. It's easier to integrate if people are open to your arrival....

I'd suggest that those groups who don't are probably not all that into multiculturalism either, and that's a problem.

You see it a bit in less extreme form in parts of Spain where it's almost exclusively Brits. Many don't even speak Spanish.

I don't for a minute don't think it doesn't pose big problems, but it's better than the alternative from a collective humanity perspective.

I do think there can be better ways to improve integration etc, but literally every generation moans about the latest crop of migrants and feel the previous generation's crop are OK really...

It's the way of the modern world. We want to be rich and liberal? Then we have to accept all different cultures and work to help integrate.
