Team Sky Pro Cycling's Nico "Nicholas" Roche was third in the La Vuelta today!! Cyclists from other teams finished in positions one and two.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

Thats no way to talk about Flecha and Tweeting Ashley
You had that? Lucky you. I had some sort of Eurosport You've Been Framed.Correlation is not causation.0 -
I think it's just us here today Bob.
Hehe, I was meant to be out on my bike but it's raining and my legs hurt from doing Colombiere and Aravis yesterday...0 -

It's fine to take the day off. Good work yesterday. I climbed the Côte d'Hilversum which peaks at a mighty 39m.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Might just go for a spin up to the top of the valley if it clears up. Feel like I need to get value for money out of the hire bike.0

I thought Chaves was great in that interview... seems a real character.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

You could always stop for a refreshing glass of the local grape juice on the way back down...Correlation is not causation.0 -
Be fair AtC - you do start the climb from -39m

Wikipedia suggests 5'11" and 72kg* for Flecha.
Chaves is very ickle

Chaves looks like a ventriloquist's dummy in that photo.Correlation is not causation.0

My theory is that Dan always forgets to change his clocks for summertime
In fairness, his timing/positioning is quite bad. Maybe its a confidence issue.**************************************************

Hard to say how much we can read into the GC battle from that stage but it's an interesting way to start a GT.0 -
Cars are the new beef.... Niabli "escaping" chase group.

Why does Aru have a red cross on his helmet?
Due to the delays in getting trained people from vehicles to crash victims in big pileups, each team now has a nominated medic to perform triage and treat simple injuries until a professional arrives on the scene.0 -

Well he should be thrown off the race for that, along with the Astana driver.
Imagine if Sky had done that. Meltdown.0 -

Niabali is just taking the p*ss doing that. Just hope he gets properly penalised but somehow I doubt it.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Oh yes my man Chaves with a lovely win. Some decent gaps there. Shame Nibali had to get smoked by the crash; and a bit dodge on the car assist. Brilliant photo of Chaves - I knew he was small but that just puts it in great perspective (unless it is misleading as he is actually sitting down).Contador is the Greatest0

from twitter,
"El jurado de La Vuelta esta reunido para tomar una decisión acerca de la posible sanción a Vincenzo Nibali. En breve, la decisión"
apparently the vuelta jury is meeting right now to discuss possible penalties for that quick escape by ol Nibs...0 -

Good news. If yesterday hadn't made a mockery of the race so far, that just goes further. Anything less than disqualification is a cop out.0 -

He's had some phenomenally timed attacks. He got boxed in on the Muur and didn't make it in time in another stage this Tour, but that's hardly makes a summer.0 -

I think you need to go back and look at his last two performances in the Fleche... nothing to do with being boxed in when you are riding from the back of the group.**************************************************

That's not about timing of attacks, that's positioning and what his team can do.
look at his Lombady victory or his liege victory or his Tour victory. That Liege victory was one of the most tactically astute I've seen for a while.0 -
That by Nibali was ridiculous. I wondered how he managed to drop everyone he was with and close the gap so quickly. He was bordering on taking the mick when he got into the convoy but that would probably get overlooked given a crash held him up but the video just shows blatant cheating. If not a DQ then several minutes of penalties, it's far worse than Porte's crime at he Giro!
Decent stage finish in the end. I like climbs from around that length to about 8-10km that riders can really attack. I thought it was going to be one of those 1km ramps they tend to love so it came as a nice surprise. Excellent riding by Chaves and Tom D plus good to see Nico at the pointy end again.0
