    Thanks for the updates TBB.
    Contador is the Greatest
  • Demare not in top 10 despite 2 sprint stages and 6 golden mile jollies.

FdJ had two groups on different sides of the road  then Offredo did a sterling job of work to get onto the back of the Lotto train but Demare was nowhere to be seen - he looks like he's lost his mojo . Shoddy

3.40 Offredo does well 4.11 he packs it in  and puts it in reverse to find his sprinter

  • Really enjoy this race every year.

The golden KM is pretty enjoyable in a brutal sort of way.

I liked the way Phil Gil tried to race it yesterday and you never know when those second gathered might prove useful.

Can see why they do it.

Let's face it, Eneco Tour's probably as much of a joke in the pro peloton as it is on here, save for Jumbo and some B list Dutch riders.

I reckon it's mostly post-TdF fatigue/raised expectations - both for the riders and for us. With the new route of the past few years with some proper Ardennes and cobbles stages it's not inherently more boring than most other weak-long races -Poland, Down Under, Andalucia, etc. Actually, the racing has been pretty good in the final stages the past few years.
Besides that, it's World Tour, which means there's always riders willing to chase points

The fans seem to like it here. Less controlled racing partly due to the varied parcours making it difficult for teams to control, partly due to some big names absence/tired from the Tour.

Remember the days when it used to get decided by 2s worth of time bonuses on 5 bunch sprints? That was pish.

Roompot had 3 guys on them yesterday. Velonews had a good piece today saying a lot of teams have the delaying factor of leadtime for disc ready frames from sponsors and the neutral service currently need about 20 different wheels to service all the proposed combinations of axle and disc.

Not only that, only the outside spare bikes on the roof of the service cars have wheels on, so the inside bikes need to get one added which takes more time with a disc.

I personally really like discs on my bike, and will get them on my next one too.

This was one of the best races last year
  • This was one of the best races last year

Plus it's the only race to see the Muur get a proper outing these days (Omloop doesn't count as it comes with 120km to go) and 3 times at that!
