I've climbed the side of the Glandon that they will be descending today. It'll be a tough descent.
I assume they are climbing back up the same road tomorrow?0 -
Anybody feel that? TDG split the front group. Away with 10 at 25"....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

I've done it from both sides. The side they are climbing is less pretty IMO but it's a super fast descent.0 -

I really enjoyed the climb of the Glandon when I did the Marmotte (and that's about where the enjoyment ended !). Loved the scenery riding past the two lakes and also it was nice and cool (unlike the Galibier later)
I also didn't have a lumpy 100km in my legs already.0 -

Are they climbing back up that side tomoro before heading over to Croix de Fer?0 -
TDG kindly stop sprinting for intermediates and save your legs - I've got you at 80-1 for today!0

Voeckler across to the front group too."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Hesjedal and Froome look a bit similar on the bike don't they. Both of them seem to be mostly limbs and elbows.0

The road is for tourists - people who live at the top take the main road down as the riders will do today.

Some of the villages above the Maurienne valley were inaccessible in the winter up to the 1950s and they used zipwires to lower people down who were sick and needed serious medical attention.BASI Nordic Ski Instructor
