Biggest chapeau of the day to the ITV highlights production team for choosing to soundtrack their closing montage with SL2's 'On a Ragga Tip'. Absolutely inspired

It's because he was angry. Grrrrrr!

Throw that rabid animal another cupcake.
But chapeau, a great ride today, and proving once again that he is a fearless descender.0 -
Contador has no interest in a podium spot. Obviously. But it must be tempting to try beating a vulnerable valve on GC. Gesink must have a decent chance at a top 5. Surely they'll drop G at some point?...a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

He is interested, but is finding it tough.

I doubt he could hang with these guys if there were multiple serious attacks. This wasn't really the terrain for that. We'll see if he continues to amaze on the next two MTFs....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
Not sure if anyone has posted yet: GIF of moto rider first obstructing Hesjedal then taking out Fuglsang.
He's been kicked off the race
That looks to me caused by both the riders swerving across the road.
bloody cyclists eh? They probably think they are riding a bike race or something.
That's no excuse, they should have all passed their Cycling Proficiency Test and should know to look behind, if the way is clear, indicate and then pull out.0 -

Absolute nonsense.
Moto was told to it could overtake the group of riders. That doesn't mean it can plow into the lot on such a narrow road. Riders swinging from one side to the other isn't that rare, you know? Happens when they are tired, for tactical purposes and bringing the next rider in front of the group..
Hesjedal and Fuglsang have been in the business for many years and know how to protect themselves. They aren't idiots. Jakob just said he had no idea about the motorbike - so, he didn't even honk.0 -
Joaquim saying it was so fast on the flat to the Glandon that he couldnt get his feed bag which is why he struggled. You would have thought the car could have just driven up later and given it to him.
Driver 538 (ridiculous number in this circus) has been ejected from the race for his stupid move to take out Fugslang.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Most tenuous link to the stage winners name ever?
Did you catch Boulting tweet of the camera man and him driving through France singing a long to Dpanfau Ballet? You can see where these music choices come from. Best use if songs since Jeremy VineWe're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

They were on for the slowest time estimate up until that point (35kph ave). By the time they were half way up the Glandon they managed to catch up with the 37kph ave time schedule, managing to increase the whole average by 2kph in such a short space of time was really going some.
Bardet was a very popular winner in St Jean today. Big big cheers when he managed to get away. Decent cheers for Rolland too.
We were near the big screen so could watch the whole stage. There wasn't any change in sound when Contador went or any of the other attacks. I think everyone has just got used to most of the attacks going nowhere (or being half hearted).0 -

Other than in his interview today when he specifically stated he was hunting a podium spot you mean?0 -
Up close and personal with Froome
Greg LeMond spent quite a bit of time posing for photos and signing stuff. Top man.
Apologies for all the photos.0 -
Not surprised the GC guys didn't go for it. Tomorrow is where you can make a difference. And if you tried today, you'd pay tomorrow.
Froome did look slightly off at a couple of points, but he is good at not panicking and riding back. I did notice yesterday when Quintana attacked properly, he responded out-the-saddle and right away and got on without any bother.
Why tomorrow rather than today ? If he is planning on sticking all his eggs in the basket of going early on the Glandon then I yes he will need to be fresh but if he waits until the final climb (famous last words but I can't see the Mollard offering much opportunity) surely he would have been better giving it a go today.
That was a hard climb and importantly Contador was already up ahead with a shared interest in working if Quintana had got across - had that happened Froome would have been in a lot of trouble and might have lost further time on the Lacets DV.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -

If G is still with Quintana and Contador at the end of today then those two have had a bad day.0 -

G's Kask is sitting a bit odd, looks too high on his head, too much forehead showing, real gaper gap compared with the others. Compare with an older photo where there's much less gap
