I've done them. I got them out the way last week, all 22 of them, more theses than stages of the Tour. It was brutal at times I felt like abandoning and I'm not sure I'll be able to achieve the same level of form next year.
I am now busy planning a MASSIVE seminar for next term before my Alpine raid starts next week.

But as we all know, it's just an excuse for him to infuse three litres of blood the day before pivotal stages while Brian Cookson gives hima foot massage.

As someone who never needs to touch an inhaler unless I really rag myself, I have little problem with inhalers.

There's the minor matter of the finish up to La Toussuire tomorrow, with the HC Croix de Fer to soften things up earlier in the stage. If anyone wants to launch a proper long range attack on Froome to take back some serious time, you'd think that's the place to do it.So at this rate, Froome is getting an armchair ride and will simply just have to attack on the Alpe for another couple minutes. Job done.
Lets hope it doesn't disappoint. Running out of time to shakeup GC.
Sadly, the stages are so short, I can't see much happening. Now, if they'd bolted a 100kms on to the start of the stages, then we might see some gaps.0 -

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Froome take a can of drink from a team-mate who had already had a swig ? Given the immune system is depressed by this stage of the race that seems a risky thing to do.0

when racing against Valverde, it's best to have a teammate check all food and drink for poison before consuming

Has anyone told Quintana he's 3 minutes down with 3 stages to go ?
Bit disappointed with him and Movistar as a whole so far - they seem more concerned about preserving Valverde's position than trying to shake Froome - a bit of a tester towards the top of the Glandon was all we saw.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -
Not surprised the GC guys didn't go for it. Tomorrow is where you can make a difference. And if you tried today, you'd pay tomorrow.
Froome did look slightly off at a couple of points, but he is good at not panicking and riding back. I did notice yesterday when Quintana attacked properly, he responded out-the-saddle and right away and got on without any bother.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
A beautiful, very enjoyable stage that had loads of action and absolutely zero impact on the GC.

G needs to reduce the gap between his lid and his frames. He was looking like Stannard most of today.
Froome struggled a wee bit. It's not 110% over....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
Good ride by Bardet. Kind of wanted Jungels to get it after all the work he put in but he couldn't quite pull it off....because of all the work he put in.
Froome did look on the edge at some points today but he is very good at understanding the minimum effort he needs to put in and sticking to it.
There comes a point when you have to stop bemoaning the fact that Movistar are not trying enough attacks and accept that they simply don't have it. My sense is that Quintana is climbing the better of the two at the moment but he hasn't quite got enough to drop Froome.
Big stage tomorrow. To keep the race alive Quintana needs to pull out 2 minutes I would say. It's difficult to imagine but this is cycling....strange things do happen.0 -
The best part of the stage was when Froome looked in trouple at the top of the 2nd last climb. Then everyone attac... no, wait.. they stopped.0

Just seen the highlights. Another great day for MTN- Qubeka. My PTP pick Pauwels was pretty good, coming in 6th. Sadly the race will now be between the big boys, so I doubt we will see many more fireworks from them. What a Tour, though.
