Nice win by Bardet, but rather underwhelming from the GC guys.
Only 250km of racing left.0 -
Massive congratulations to Bardet as he has ridden like he really wanted it and has got a lovely win there. He moves to 10th a few seconds ahead of Barguil too. Great result for him all things considered.
Special mention to Jungels for being super strong, should have held something back...Anacona jumps him on the line though which is poor show. Good effort Rolland.
Glad JRod is in the KOM lead but sad to see him dropped on the first proper mountain.
I can't believe there is no change to GC at all but I guess this is modern day 'racing'. Tomorrow better provide a show.Contador is the Greatest0 -
They don't mess around with that tour tracker thing - Bardet crosses the line then it's switched off immediately.0

Huzzah Bardet!
Much deserved0 -

If that comes off you could buy a mars bar!
You mean 11 mars bars!!
£6.65 if he comes in the top 4.
On the other hand I did forget to make a PTP pick today so I guess it's karma.
That's over 13 bottles of Tesco Cloudy Lemonade!
So much for my mars bars...0 -
Not a great GC stage, but I don't think it was ever going to be.
Few little attacks from the bottom half of the top 10, but nothing much.0 -

He's been doing that a bit.
Nearly coughed in Quintana's face yesterday when Quintana went to shake his hand.
Is asthmatic though apparently.0 -

So at this rate, Froome is getting an armchair ride and will simply just have to attack on the Alpe for another couple minutes. Job done.Contador is the Greatest0

It's his job to get a lead and maintain it, just like Alberto did during the Giro. The blame has to be on the others.0 -
I enjoyed todays racing a lot. Great ride from Bardet, held the GC group at the same time over the last mountain.
GC riding was enjoyable. A few little skirmishes, but that's all they were. None of them really hoped or thought it would be a winning move. Why bother attacking 200m from a summit, other than for positioning on the descent. Contador can't have believed for a minute that a 50km attack would work, not in his condition, but it was fun to see him fail anyway. I thought Froome was bonking and if the DS's saw what we saw they should have telling their riders to attack him, though I think the gap over the top was caused more by being stuck behind a slow moving Gesink2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium
2020 Merida Reacto Disc Ltd - black on black

A bit like last years Giro when Froome towed Contador all over Italy then?0 -
Froome looked a tad shaky today for a nano second.
Movistar will be pouring over the vid and trying to get some morale boost if they can0 -
I don't think Gesink's getting enough plaudits. Really solid ride from someone I associate with having too many "bad days". Plus, you know, heart surgery. Good on him.0

exercise induced asthma, innit.
But as we all know, it's just an excuse for him to infuse three litres of blood the day before pivotal stages while Brian Cookson gives hima foot massage.
Or some shit like that.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -

Well everyone in the bike shop was very excited to see Gesink up there with the big boys.Correlation is not causation.0

He and his team rode smartly in the cross winds, he handled the cobbles well and he dropped GC contenders on both the Mur du Huy and then first Pyreneean stage. He's done plenty to just be able to follow right now.0 -

Froome can advise anyone about attacking on La Toussuire0 -
Bakelants seems not that delighted about Bardet's win.
That final climb was probably as badly designed for Froome as any can be - lot of little accelerations every few hundred metres. Takes him a while to get those legs up to speed.0 -

As someone who never needs to touch an inhaler unless I really rag myself, I have little problem with inhalers. Compared to the surprisingly high number of diabetic top level sportspeople. Mmmmm, lovely legal anabolic injectiony goodness...
Boardman must have been so annoyed he couldn't legitimately take Testosterone until he retired, considering what a pharmacopia was being abused around him..0 -

Bakelants has a bit of a track record for not being entirely content with his team, team orders, etc0 -

Lets hope it doesn't disappoint. Running out of time to shakeup GC.
If we didn't have Contador and Barguil attacking today it would be pointless watching the screen apart from the times the break was on the Glandon onwards.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Who are all these top level diabetic sportsmen? I can only think of Gary Mabbutt, Steve Redgrave and Team Type 1 / Novo Nordisk (who aren't exactly setting the world on fire).
