As the actual average watts was close to the estimate, the likes of Tucker said this was proof that it wan't pseudoscience.
Well I'll tell you what is pseudoscience. Using a single data point as proof of something. (The real proof is the lack of contrary evidence).
In their eagerness to dismiss the pseudoscience tag they have shown themselves to be just that.
Yes, and when the numbers don't show the 6.7 W/KG he'd like he starts to bring up all the Clinic arguments "came from nowhere", lack of transparency blah blah blah. A charlatan with an agenda, but unfortunately an apparently good reputation with those that haven't spotted it yet.
“Road racing was over and the UCI had banned my riding positions on the track, so it was like ‘Jings, crivvens, help ma Boab, what do I do now? I know, I’ll go away and be depressed for 10 years’.”
“Someone sent it to me, I don’t know who it came from. I thought it was fake. When I saw the heart rate I said it must be correct. I knew Chris Froome had a low heart rate, his former trainer at the UCI centre in Aigle told me."
The 'pseudo' part refers to the drawing of conclusions from a subset of the available data, for example 'faster than Armstrong' with no accompanying context (eg 5.6 w/kg LoL). It would also refer to scientists who proclaim the infallibility of their model based on one result. I'm sure you knew this, being from The Clinic and all.

Does Ambassador Limit agree with the following, I wonder?
below 410 watts are green and considered “human”; yellow rides, from 410 to 430 watts, are “suspicious”; orange, from 430 to 450 watts, are “miraculous”; and anything over 450 watts are red and ranked as “mutant” performances

Froome gave his resting HR as 35 and max as 170 in an interview today.
He needs a pacemaker then.
He's got two, Porte and Thomas
Seriously though, a resting heart rate under 40 is normally treated with a pacemaker.
Mind you Richie will probably wear it for him.
When I was young and fit, I had a resting heart rate of 35 bpm. 20 something years later and I'm not fit at all but my resting heart rate is in the 40's.

.
Not unusual for a pro cyclist. Indurain claimed a resting HR of 28, Armstrong 32. Eddy Merckx of course has had a pacemaker fitted as his resting HR is still under 40 despite being a big unfit pensioner.

Doesn't it just make you weep? 450w FOR HOW LONG?! At what weight? Blanket statements on raw output is completely meaningless.

Give him some credit - a true charlatan would have gone to at least the second decimal place to add some spurious accuracy.

Didn't they do that when they measured K2?

It was a fairly transparent trick question, quoting Vayer without his context, to see if the answer would be you need to see the context. A pro like Skylimit was never going to fall for it.
(I think the power bands he quotes are associated with one specific climb so it's terrestrial thought to that extent. Total woo in many other respects of course. There's no need to misrepresent the man.)

I'd love to do that with the Koppenberg and all the pro riders who race up it in a year, because the disscrepancy you'd see between the front of RVV, the back of RVV, the guy who grinds up it dodging people stopping and the cross riders who do it 8 times in an hour would lead to some amazing conspiracy theories.

In fairness I have a naturally high heart rate. At my absolute fittest, and I really was fit then, my resting heart rate was 65. I can easily push into 200+ bpm.
To complicate it further my heart doesn't like to beat all that regularly. Kinda speeds up and slows down over short periods. Nothing major but it f*cks with monitors.
It's all been checked out and totally healthy. Inherited it from my mother.
Heart rate comparisons seem pretty meaningless for comparison between individuals. Long ago when I was fit I had a lowest resting HR of 32, but I was still rubbish

Looks like it's a leak rather than a hack, as they are looking to publish data from yesterday's win later today/this week.
Froome clearly doping because he can't keep up with Contador?
They cried 2 years about mutant Froome and when their hacked data shows 5.6W/Kg they turn to heart rate
Like heart rate is an instant linear function of cadence. Absolutely ridiculous.
And now moving the goalposts to fit their "who is clean and who is doped" agenda. That's why is called pseudo science.
what about the fact that the leaked video shows almost exactly the same watts as these "pseudo-scientists" predicted back in 2013?
Antoine Vayer
This is Confirmation bias not scientific process.
It's a strange question. That power numbers can be estimated to a degree of certainty is not in dispute.
Let's say their estimates are spot on. Then what?
The fact that June this year was the coldest on record means that global warming doesn't exist.
Do you get it?
no, sorry.
That explains a lot.
