Castroviejo takes Spanish TT and Martin takes German TT (2nd place was little known Arndt and was only 2mins back).

You mean the little known rider who rides for a World Tour team and won a stage of the Dauphine last year?

    Reda.
The guy who served a doping suspension....................for missing a test.
    Enjoyed that.
Nibali good, but not that good.

  • Nibali wins the Italian national championships again and well deserved as he made the race with 2 uphill attacks and dropping the final two(Ullisi & Reda) who with him on the final descent.

Not sure of his climbing form though as he was chased down on the last climb by Ulissi before then dropping him and Francesco Reda is the last 2kms.

Matti Breschel out of the Danish road race after being hit front on by a car cutting a corner - he's alright but his dad (on a scooter) broke his collarbone.

Good interview with Thijs Benoot and Edward Theuns in De Gentenaar today... What we learned:

The hardest training ride in East Flanders goes from the town hall at 0900 every weekday.
Theuns lives with his mum and has never fled the nest
Both riding for the win tomorrow
Benoot won his first pro raceafter a big night at the Gentse Feesten, but hes not going this year cos he's going well and wants to hold his form for Eneco and the Worlds
Both cycle on their city bikes when they need to go somewhere in the city
Benoot likes cheesy student clubs in the winter
Theuns has no targeted races for the year because, if he's lucky, topsprt give him his plan 2 week on advance
"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

    Does.

Was watching some startline interviews with Astana riders and they all are blown away by his ability to sleep.

Dutch TV (RTL) presented him with a pillow with Zoetemelk's face on it, with his "you win the Tour in bed" quote.

That means another year of that abomination of a champs jersey.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Completely, utterly flat. They even didn't include the many cobbled lanes you got near Emmen (used in Ronde van Drenthe)

An Überhöhungsfaktor of 10 on that Swiss profile. Is that not somewhat unusual?

    Deignan out in Ireland.
Not clear if it's crash or mechanical or low self esteem after reading the BR rating his girlfriend.

If Armistead doesn't win today it will be a travesty, everyone else following her wheel and doing minimum turns already. Some even trying to get others to come through as they're struggling to hold her wheel. I'm not her biggest fan but she's head and shoulders above the rest of the field. I think she'll have enough power to ride away from any wheel suckers last time up Michaelgate though. Wiggle not doing too well other than Amy in the break.

Has anyone ever seen a pro cyclist that looks less like a pro cyclist than Archibald? She looks like she's never had a coaching session in her life, her power must be incredible.

I think it's promoting a cancer charity, but even so a couple of spectators are stood at the top of the climb in a rather unflattering pink kit!

Lizzie Armistead has a huge loop of gear cable going to her rear mech. Looks awful, sack the bike builder!!

    Oh dear, Eurosport.
What a ridiculous place to have an ad break.
