That was probably for bragging rights in the deathstar afterwards and I imagine partly because it was a one on one. I imagine several WT riders further back had dropped out.
spot on, coming 2nd or 3rd at nationals is unlikely to affect their career prospects0 -
Can I point out that Gerrans finished 6th... the only OGE rider who did...
Must have been awkward trying to find a wheel with a peloton that reduced.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -

One on one. Just as Dennis was with Cam Meyer until Meyer said toodles.
Besides, Dennis has to do better than this to make him worthy of my GT podium prediction for his career0 -

Thing is that OGE will always race for Gerrans in the nats, until whichever comes sooner: retirement or his leg falls off. He's considered $$$$ over there
He was most miffed in 2013 when Durbridge went off and won the thing from the break0 -

Indeed, though he had already picked up the TT title... so maybe thought sod it I don't like green and gold stripes that much (or was that bit more tired)... Incidentally Bobridge appears to have sandbagged the TT0 -
And back to my original question. Any idea why Bling wasn't riding?0

OGE deferring to Gerrans, as per0 -

Tbf, he was the only rider of any team to finish 6th.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -

Matthews also hasn't ridden in the Aus summer since he was at Rabobank.0 -
OGE really blew that one.
Only 15 finishers.
OGE had Edmondson and Docker in the initial break of 20, while Drapac had Bernie Sulzberger and Roe. A lot of OGE's guys had been racing the Bay Crits, where they choked the life out of each race, working their ar$es off, so apart from Gerrans and Hepburn, they weren't too fresh.
Bobridge goes very, very well in the heat, always has but nobody expected him to stay away after attacking with 90kms to go. OGE's tactics could have been better, but were understandable. For me, Drapac were the ones who deserved a kick up the backside. Until the 2nd last lap they had 6! guys in the main group and didn't commit a single one to the chase. BMC and Dimension Data did more with only 2 and 3 riders in the race respectively.0 -

ta
fair enough getting hitched - though no interest in the green/gold jersey?0 -

maybe Bling feels he will have better form for the European season but not training to be race fit in Jan, some people seem very good and maintaining good condition for a long time or having several peaks throughout the season, whereas others probably prefer to be more chilled this time of year then focusing more later in the year.0
