On balance I think I'm chuffed for the fella rather than think less of the title.

Both GB titles made for good viewing. Lizzie is really another class and that attack was truly phenomenal. The men's race was aggressive all the way through. I think for all the comments about Rowe needing to ride and that it's an individual championship a) had he helped get a relatively fresh Cav across for a win he would have got panned by the team as well as Internet experts and cycling pundits and b) from the first time up Michaelgate he always looked slightly off the pace of the others and it showed as soon as the lead 4 attacked each other.
Brilliant ride by Cav though, I really wish he'd give a few more of the Classics a go as I'm convinced he could stay with the best of them. The Yates' must be kicking themselves for missing out on the initial move though.0 -
