The double bedroom has plenty of cupboard space and provides familiar surroundings for each day of the race
    Witless, squalid extravagance.

Amazing that the general feeling is so sure that a 57kg (probably 56kg by the start of the TT) rider will put several minutes into a 65kg rider who is a future multiple GT winner.

So true man it's all about the weight. You're expecting the heavier Aru to beat Uran right? Personally I think Greipel will beat them both. Because he's heavier.

I'm really interested where your obsession with Portes weight has come from FF. I guess it must be the same place where these mythical fans live.

He comes from a TT background so has developed the skills and physiology of a TTer. Now he has reduced body fat %age to as low as it can go (arguably too low for general health) but that won't have affected how his muscles push on the pedals. Most people are of the opinion that I'd be a lot better cyclist if I lost weight...

Are we really supposed to believe Aru is carrying almost 10kg more than Porte? Especially after his recent bout of illness and the apparent associated 5kg weight loss?

Porte got a helicopter ride to avoid that 5hr transfer.

Unseemly, in your face, loadsamoney, Eastenders make-up trailer, The Special One... And never forget that the most important thing in sport is building teams:
"I know you had a shitty night Kiry, but one more time for Little Richard"
"Sorry G. We'd love to pay you more but the cupboard is bare. How about your loyalty to the team that made you?"

So I am glad we all agree that based on past performances in three week races, Aru should be much more likely to win the Giro then Porte.

Only having one GT top ten finish in his career, Porte was keen to ask Contador some advice on how to achieve it.

    Some advice:

Stick to posting photo's which you are good at.

Leave out your myopic, biased and insinuating comments as they risk spoiling threads on what has been a fascinating race so far!!!

Richie's lavish accomodation. The team really need to be called to account on this obscene waste.

The team really need to be held to account for a shocking approach to interior design. Like Bertie's shoes it's hideous!

I think I'd prefer a hotel over that. I couldn't sleep amongst all that mock-wood paneling.

It cost 125k. Oleg Tinkov gives Peter Sagan that much every eleven days.

They've also got a mobile restaurant

It is funny the attachment that pro-cycling seems to have to the idea of riders sleeping in shared hotel rooms.

I'm barely paid the minimum UCI wage and my work would never expect me to sleep in a room with a colleague.

Everyone is going on about what this will do for team morale. Yes it may well make other members of the team feel jealous, but if they can see the benefit to the 'team ' and thus to them and their pockets of this then maybe they don't mind. In addition sharing hotels is not always the great team building exercise people assume it to be. What's the difference of Porte sleeping alone in a hotel room and alone in this in the car park? If it makes Porte a happier camper then maybe they actually prefer it.

Where was the outrage about Bertie sleeping the night in Tinkoff's extravagant* Tuscan villa?

*While I can't account for Oleg's taste in interior decor, I'm sure his villa is considerably more lavish than this Porteacabin.

In the TTs Contador and Porte have both raced (not too many), the score is 4 vs 3 to Contador.

It really is amazing that the general consensus is that Porte will bury my men.

If Contador performs badly then it will be entirely due to his injured shoulder.

No-one has said that Porte will bury Contador. At best the majority give him a slight edge. It's Aru that people think he'll bury - with good reason.

In the TTs that Porte has raced as leader he has had far better results than those he wasn't leader. Unfortunately there is no Bert v Porte comparison on those.

I was thinking more about the environmental impact of dragging a bus across Europe for a month for one guy. It's unjustifiable on any basis.

If it's environmental impact that's the problem then road cycling - with the team cars, the caravans, the TV helicopters, the international flights - might as well give up and everyone should just ride on the track.

We can consume a bit less without going back to the stone age. Team marginal waste is it now? Bunch of cavepeople.

Isn't Porte Australian TT champ having beaten former Hour record holder Rohan Dennis into 2nd place? that seems a sound enough logic for believing Porte is currently the better TT'er
