Lol Konig rides for Sky. 1st and 3rd on GC. What a joke.
What is your problem with this? Porte obviously won with some 'panache' as he must have ridden the others off his wheel. And he happened to have a team-mate (a known climber) in the group coming in behind. What is the matter?
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

2nd rider in the team wins every race he enters from the beginning of the year until now. He does it with 0% body fat into the bargain. He does it with ease and he does it after being awful last year. It's not much fun to watch.
ps. 1km/2km sprints to the finish does not constitute panache.
Three Sky riders rode on the front and whittled it down. Pirazzi attacks then moments later Porte attacks 2km out and manages to put 30 secs into 3rd and over 1min into 11th. You can calculate the differences in speed. Froome and Quintana probably couldn't hold that wheel

If Porte didn't put 30 seconds into those guys I'd be worried. He's easily the best bike rider in the race.
Are you really suggesting Froome or Quintana couldn't keep up with a guy who put 16 seconds into Landa? You need to stop being such a drama reine dude.
Seriously though FF, it's hard to believe you'd be complaining too much if it was a different team or at least a different rider performing as well as this...
Just watched.
Wtf happened to Ag2r?
Christ, that was boring.
Coverage started at the foot of the penultimate climb, with Siutsou pulling the legs off riders, one after another.
He was still doing that job, 400 metres before Porte launched.
In between: nothing, except hanging onto wheels.

SKy have the best rider and by far the strongest team in the race.
FF is just worried as steak boy is getting destroyed in the Giro.
Only the other day FF was claiming that this season, he was only writing positive comments about Sky.
I guess today, he just forgot.
Do you have to write all positive? Or all negative? How about both? I'd go with the latter; its more balanced. For example, check the comments on Froome in the Fleche thread.

Contador has won countless GTs.
Porte has won none. In fact his best result in a GT is only 7th in 2010 which he got because he was part of a unusual breakaway. His finishes since then are: 81st, 72nd, 89th, 68th, 19th, 23rd. So if he came out and smashed everyone in the Giro, well, you can work out the rest.

My post above was also negative, about the method.
You were being negative about the result and sarcastic about success. How so?
You'd nailed it with it's not much fun to watch.

Seems the illness that has kept Fabio Aru out of the race is severe enough to keep him out of Romandie as well.
With his recovery in time for the Giro in doubt and having had very little preparation into the bargain, Astana may be looking for a substitute, it seems:
That Aru illness is a big blow. Was very much looking forward to my man tearing it up in the Giro. Nibali taking over - highly doubt it given he was saying recently he is 100% focused on TdF.

It's all good. He's been chilling on the beach for aaaages.
Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy
Also, Contador was rubbish in 2013 not winning one race, and then came back the next year winning 2 WT stage races and a GT, so if anything Porte is only emulating your hero.
Listen FF you know my views on Bert (and other dopers) the man is most suspicious rider in the peloton, he'll get busted again before he retires.
Just a Neutral point :
They spent a lot of money and specialised miniscule testing to bust him the first time, so do you think they can nail him again. ??

The licence wrangle probably to decide the issue?
If traders can't count to six, then I think we may have found the cause of the last half-decade-plus of financial turmoil.

More or less fun than watching a guy win a GT after just finishing a lengthy doping ban with the decisive move coming the day after a rest day?
Maybe. But the real fun was in guessing just what Berto had for his rest day barbecue.
