One of my favourite short stage races. Includes a TTT, two uphill finishes and a really bumpy stage with a hilly finishing circuit.

Ooo I'm super excited about this wee race in part because I know the roads.

There be some shockers, the road from Ragoli to Stenico on stage 2 is particularly bad surface wise unless they've resurfaced it since the summer.

Anyway, come on MY MAN Porte!

Pozzo is the danger man. He is in good form and this race suits him well as he has shown in the past. Lets hope he and Meintjes tear Sky to pieces. I expect Bardiani will provide some firecrackers and Cunego will show something. Cant rule out Kudus for a nice performance either. A shame Aru is not racing.

No live coverage this year. The cutbacks in Italy continue to bite deep.
Highlights on Rai Sport 2, each day around the 5pm mark.
Sometimes there is a RS 2 feed available, sometimes not.

I don't sky why, Sky particularly when racing with Porte this year have been all attack. Great racing for true fans.

Apparently Cannondale Garmin had a crash losing two riders in the TTT.

Team hoodless extractor (Bora) seem to be leading 0.3 seconds ahead of Sky for the time being.

So Team Bora take it from Sky...

I'll post up more results when I get them.

Stage 3 goes through my Dad's home town and finishes where my Grandmother's family came from. It is a beautiful area.

Landa crosses the line in second and Cunego comes second.

For younger readers, Cunego is a rider from 2004.

Porte leads Landa on GC by 24 seconds. Konig is third at 42 seconds.

Konig was fourth and Torres was fifth (doing well since he left Chelsea)

Do you prefer it when their other riders trail in minutes down? Because you complain about that too... :P

“To be honest I didn’t feel fantastic today, I only came down from altitude on Friday and so to win with legs I had today was massive confidence boost. The effort the team put in was really the cherry on the icing on the cake,” Porte said.
