Its satin black and the blue is really bold, looks great.

That's a lovely looking frame. Would have gone yellow otherwise?

What shock are you going to put on?

Very nice frame, I'm a fan of the colour scheme and design. It should look awesome once built up.

It might have a couple orange bits when I first build it but I think I will need a linger stem and Im sure the wife might find a few subtle hints at a blue chain ring for my birthday :-)
The first few bits have arrived. I have gone for Specialized Purgatory Grid tyres, I like them on the Mega so gone for them again with Bird Cycles tubeless kit.
Wheels are Hope Tech Enduro, got them on my Mega as well and they have been impressively solid and Im a serial wheel breaker.
I ordered a Hope headset but Bike Active had fitted one (also Hope) to the frame before sending it out to me which was a really nice extra.
All other bits are coming from my Mega. Not sure whether to keep the Monarch Debonair shock or fit my Cane Creek Inline. Will try both.
  • The build sounds nice, will look forward to seeing the progress

Look forward to seeing this build and seeing how it compares to the mega. Have fun RM

  • Good choice, just checked out the yellow version and black/blue is far better - a thing of beauty!

What made you go for transition scout just out of interest?

I love short travel bikes which are long, slack and low. Enduro bikes just arent my thing. When the Scout first came out I thought it looked spot on. When I rode one a couple weeks ago I thought it was absolutely brilliant. Within an hour I was confidently pushing as hard as I could on my Mega.
The one I rode belongs to a local pro rider who is sponsored by Transition UK and I have never known him to be particularly enthusiastic about his bikes but he is really enthusiastic about his Scout (and his TR500).
Its designed for a similar purpose to the Mega TR (and the Mega is very good at it) but it just does it exceptionally well.

Just bought my Banshee frame from Bike Active and no headset with mine! What did you do to butter them up??

It hasnt been adjusted since it came off the Mega. I guess the seat tube angle is different.

Love the frame, wheels, forks RM, but don't like the Orange bits. Bet it's bloody quick! When's first ride planned?

Love Transition. My Bandit came from the original distributor after much discussion (and riding) about whether that or the Covert would work better for me.

Really like the new bikes. I hope you have as long and as good a relationship with yours as I have with mine!

Rear brake now sorted and tyres set up tubeless.
Im spending tomorrow night in the mosh pit at a System of a Down show so a quiet recovery ride on Saturday morning will be my first ride. After that I can decide on stem length and order a black one.
Im hoping the kids will get me a blue chain ring for my birthday in s few weeks :-)

    Great looking bike.

I am more impressed by how you managed to make the front wheel look like a 24" though.

First ride today. It's proper good. Need a longer stem though, I was lifting the front too much over jumps and the front was light on climbs.
Other than that it felt great. The Debonair shock is a lot better than the standard Monarch but I think the CCDB Inline is better as long as I can get enough rebound damping without having it modified.

other than the colour of the stem and chain ring that's pretty nice looking

A black Raceface Atlas stem is on its way. The 35mm stem fitted is too short.
The chainring will be replaced once its worn out.

Looks good! Short travel bikes are a lot of fun - I rarely feel the need for more travel on my Mega.
That's a very low top tube on there, what size is it? (apologies if you already said, I just skipped ahead to the pretty pictures).

The top tube is very low but it's a large frame.
This rides similar to your Mega but Transition seem to have made the Scout even more of a hooligan. Maybe it just suits me better but I seem to be constantly in the air on this bike and I find it easier to manual, probably because it fits me better than the Mega did.
My last ride on my Mega TR was so much fun. An uplift day at Triscombe getting chased by mates on bigger bikes who should have been faster on those trails. I did get genuinely scared on a couple really steep rocky sections at speed though!
