You've got to want to be Sagan or Valgren so you can ride in national champion's kit rather than that bloody awful Taxo-Sinkoff strip...

Talk of Sagan's refueling habits being incompatible with the cut of his kit in the Cobbles special Cycling Podcast. (A great listen).

No idea how reliable, but talk of Omar Piscina who was involved with the last iteration of Tinkov Cycling.

    Oleg has fired Riis.

And according to Freibe Oleg never wanted to be involved with Saxo, he wanted to partner with Cannondale.

I don't see the team lasting that long.

The team underperforms for the wage bill, that's for sure. Looking through their roster and obviously Sagan is overpaid, Bertie is obviously a superstar, Valgren and Majka are good riders, but is there anyone else there who you would pick if you were the DS? Not for me.

Good as a team captain and the odd stage here and there, agreed. But hardly a young superstar in the making who is going to do well in one-day races or for GC.

I suspect Tinkov is looking at the squad and thinking 'I have 2 superstars, ridiculously highly paid, I have Valgren and Majka who both could be good...what else do I have, where is a win coming from? Sagan is a master of nothing, albeit very good at everything, but he has been found out.

From his tweets Oleg just wants to be the best team in cycling, and to be honest IMO they are miles behind Movistar, Sky and EQS to name but three. Their squad is Katusha in talent.

There must be plenty of talk between the riders about Oleg and it's not as if they don't read and hear about his outbursts and the situation there. Who seriously out of the top guys would want to go and ride for him? I just can't see who he's going to sign unless he pays ridiculous amounts gambling on up and coming riders.

It's a sellers market. Riders will go anywhere for one of the following reasons depending on their current situation:

    1. Money.
    2. Leadership.
    3. Employment!

Oleg really hasn't got a clue.

He bought a team that was spending most of its money on a legend who is on the decline. And then he spent it on a prodigy who had plateaued.

As Joel says, there's Valgren (young) and Majka (flaky). But he seems to have blown his money on Galacticos.

Tinkov is semi obsessed with Sky but his approach is very different to what they are doing.

Still at least that's one less executive travel company in the cycling game.
