Richie's developing well, folks seem reluctant to recognise he's as good as any in the top flight now.
If dirty bertie is struggling folks like Richie will be the ones to profit.

I think Porte was as guilty at recognizing his ability as anyone. With his recent form he seems to have found some self belief.

Wilco came fifth and still in the GC top 10. Decent ride, let down on GC by stage 1...

I think people are reticent to believe after previous disappointments, especially last year's.

Froome will walk this. Can't wait.

Well if he'd been going much slower he would've been walking. Is he ill?

He pulled out of Tirreno with a chest infection.

He's always sick at this time of year. 2013 was the exception.

There were quite a lot of GC names in the autobus with him yesterday - Hesjedal, Bardet, Sanchez, Anacona, Kiserlovski

There are no excuses tbh, even I don't care. He is the 2nd best stage racer around (not by wins though) and Sky's number one rider. It is not a non-event.

Although to be honest, with the rubbish TV coverage it's felt like a non-event. I certainly haven't enjoyed it as much as Paris-Nice. I've found this race to be a bit 'meh' so far (apart from one or two sections)

    Today's stage:

Polanc (Lampre), Watson (Trek) and Bagot (Cofidis) have 4mins after 100km

Are you auditioning for a job as Tinkov-Saxo DS?

De Clercq is way down now, most of the top GC guys (Porte, Contador, Uran, Aru, Valverde) I think are in the front echelon of ~20-25 riders.

    Yep.

De Clercq's been dropped. Porte is now provisional leader. But Uran and Aru are also in the front group.

Over the top of the climb with 25" gap, but 30k to go so chances are it could come back together.

    Those roads look immaculate.

    Thanks. Never heard him before.

The climb looks fairly gentle so far. Don't know whether it kicks up.

Valverde was heavily involved according to what I heard from the commentators, but didn't see it.

Crosswinds in conjunction with BMC and Sky.

Front group has shrunk a little after some surging from various people.
