I'm not doing PTP for this but quite fancy Majka or Aru today.

Sky will control it for Porte but sure those two will have what it takes to go with him. On the basis that it never gets super steep, it should suit him, Wiggins and Thomas well, but I think those pair will be fighting out GTs against one another in five years' time.

Or perhaps I'm just being a bit contrary because everybody else reckons Porte.

Doing his best work 'for the team' before the cameras roll; since Oman 2013. Needs more stripes on the jag.

As we pick up the action with a shade under 100 kilometres remaining, a three-man break featuring Antoine Duschesne (Europcar), Thomas De Gendt (Lotto-Soudal) and Chris Anker Sørensen (Tinkoff-Saxo) holds a lead of 6:30 over the peloton.

Quite interesting really but takes the fun out of it. If I had to do that it would be like giving a dog a Rubriks cube

Good reading for those who still think the most advanced teams still rely on wind tunnels.

Chris Anker Søderson tries to sneak the kom points after De Gendt led the climb. Typical Tinkoff rider.

50km, 4:10. Just TDG & CAS left out front.

It's the first day of climbing and it's not a particularly hard climb so I can see more than a dozen genuine contenders for the stage.

I think Kwiatkowski could come away with the win today because the climb is easy enough for him and he has the kick at the end. But I've played it safe with Porte.

Just tuned in. Tinkoff driving the second group.

    How did it split?

Whole AG2R squad came to front and started drilling. Narrow roads. Folk taken by surprise. Possibly. Think Majka was coming back from a mechanical at the time.

AG2R taking 2mins out the two leaders in the last 15mins or so. Drilling it for their boys Peraud and Bardet.

    Wiggins has given up already.

I hope Quintana and/or Fernandez can stick with the top boys today although my favourite to win would Aru unless the climb really is too easy.

    From inrng this was good:
Normally Fabio Aru would be an obvious pick but he seems to be building his form; we should note the Astana team’s distress at the moment with riders trying to show themselves, see Diego Rosa ‘abandoning’ Vincenzo Nibali over the Strade Bianche so it’ll be interesting to see how Aru and Jacob Fuglsang and others cooperate.

Izagurri (?) puncture, Rojas gives him his wheel and gets him going again.

For the love of god, turn the bike upside down and stop fecking about - I don't care what "the rules" say, it's so clearly a faster way of changing a wheel! There, I've said it.

Riders going off the back from EQS's pace. Only dropping Degenkolb and Haussler though, so the pace can't be that high.

    Form, or in cba mode?
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
