Vanmarcke pops. It's between Valverde and Stybar I think. Come on Stybar!

I've been doing that since I turned on the telly and saw he was in the front group. Not a massive fan of GvA either. So Stybar it is!

These three all have good accelerations. Very well matched. Gonna be exciting if they make it to the final ramp.

That said, GvA looks like he's nearly cooked.

Front 3 have almost 20" on Vanmarcke already, 10k remaining

Wtf is going on with the time gap to Vanmarcke? It's going up second by second, 58" now?? Obviously some dodgy GPS readings here...

Sep seems doomed to be 15-30s behind in every race.

Surely Valverde is taking that gel way too late?!

Vanmarcke's around 15 seconds back but even if he makes it back on, I can't see him beating valverde or stybar up the final ramp.

    Well played Stybar!

GvA attacked first, Valverde followed and cracked, Stybar chased and passed GvA towards the top and won easily from there.

Too easy for Stybar! Great ride!

Must have been kicking himself (and Boonen, and Terpstra and GvA) last week!

Great win by Stybar. One of my reserve men.

Valverde popped. I didn't see that coming.

  • Was I the only one who picked him for PTP?

As he was the only one of my men racing... hem hem

That was a really poor effort from Sagan.

Cancellara hasn't got that many miles in his legs so far this year, and he didn't do much in this race last year before going on to have a good classics season, so I'm not that surprised he came up short. But Sagan has been riding quite a bit already and was talking up his chances. Not sure what happened. Did he even finish?

This race is more Amstel than RVV (in terms of the length of the hills) - the bigger guys like Cancellara have to go solo for the win otherwise they get smoked by the lighter guys on the run in. See Sagan vs Kwiatkowski.

I doubt it made a difference in the end - Stybar was so strong - but once again Terminator Vanmarcke kept them honest out front forcing Valverde to ride.
