As the (very catholic) Belgians would say, you can 'put a cross over his classics season'.

Nice poster, but a somewhat random selection; Strade Bianchi and Gent-Wevelgem, but no Omloop, Paris-Tours, E3 or Amstel?

The most provincial of provincial races.

Paid for, in part, by the 700 or so inhabitants of Norkere.

So the top list of favourites goes something like Kristoff, Sagan, Degekolb Cav for the sprinters, and Cancellara & Phil Gil for the non sprinters?

Swift was 3rd last yr - having a quiet build up.

Kwiatkowski and Stybar give Etixx plenty of different options along with Cav - maybe too many.

I notice that the Cycling Podacst has annointed IainF72 as the Naysayer-in-Chief (or the Grump Laureate) when it comes to Milan-San Remo.

There'll be plenty of sprinters there at the end for sure. But whether one of them wins it depends on quite a few things. If it's bad weather then that seems to favour the proper classics guys with a decent turn of speed.

Mind you it's basically only Cav who you would say is a pure sprinter.

What do they mean by "when it comes to Milan-San Remo"?!?!?

Iain is grumpy about every race!

I couldn't hear him properly, but I think Friebe may have muttered something to that effect.

Lobato has gone quiet since making Degenkolb look silly in Ruta del Sol. Did neither P-N or T-A. Finished 4th last year I think. Could be a good outsider (unless he's injured?).

As ever with MSR, so much depends on how the riders race it. Wouldn't count out a small group going away over the Poggio. They have less to do on the other side with the finish on Via Roma and the sprinters have less time to recover.

Still, difficult to bet against Kristoff and Cav.

Cav doing his bit for the sponsors. Nice one.

It's such a sprinters' route this year. Don't underestimate how much Le Mànie took out of the riders.

That's the Sky team, about as strong as they could get really. Thomas to have a go on the Poggio?

It was quite nice to hear my name said properly, which is a trick even I can't manage.

FWIW, I love M-SR, but it is rubbish until the last 20 minutes.

I actually listened to it just to hear it.

Didn't give them a fiver though, so don't go marketing yourself to them.
