Thanks for that. I hadn't spotted it.

Have to say I'm pleasantly surprised that the regular free podcasts are remaining at the 45min mark

I remember during the 2012 Tour, Anthony Tan was doing a podcast every day and regulars on the show would be Richard Moore and Daniel Friebe. Probably in their archives still. They then went their own way for 2013, with Tan appearing as an occasional guest on their show. And then in 2014 he was doing *his* own thing with Ian Chadband, then of the Telegraph I think?

I think living on opposite sides of the world doesnt help. I think his opinion is worth listening to I must say, not sure why Friebos always used to "put him in quarantine" all the time. The combination of his genuine racing knowledge with the encyclopedic knowledge of the journos was a great combinaation

I'm guessing this will be the friends one they referenced in the last episode?

Great episode this week. Shows why it's so good, as Daniel told a story he heard from a man in the pub, about Cav and Sagan at Cali, that you wouldn't get elsewhere

Perfect... on a training course that day which finishes at 5pm. Anyone else going? Fancy a pint/bite to eat before?

    Was good fun.

Basically 21 anecdotes from their time on the Tour. Most of them pretty funny (even if regulars will have heard a few before).

Don't think I've seen an audience quite so homogenous mind; I'd say at least 80% pencil necked middle aged, middle class men.

Think the BR crowd had better representation than just me & dish, but I'll leave it to them if they want to stick their head above the parapet.

Was a good evening. As you say, a very one-dimensional audience, but that's no surprise.

I'd forgotten how close Armstrong came to riding into yellow in 2009. I fear Lionel's assessment of how things could have panned out was spot on.

I suspect Cav is too media aware for this now but an hour with him and Friebos just chatting would be a great way to get an insight into the man behind the rider, perhaps Peta could be there too to help open him up a bit

Will be the subject of the next Friends podcast, so you have your wish!

I remember Richard Moore invited a few of the BRPR faithful to the Etape Book launch. The audience was very much what you describe. Typical cyclists, staring at the floor too scared to speak to anyone, sipping mineral water....except for us who set up near the free bar and got smashed! I hope poor Richard didnt have to pay for that

It was a good evening. Interesting anecdotes and a good format. Questions a bit dull. No free bar and we got rushed out of the building as it was shutting.

Rick neglects to mention our adventures in Soho afterwards ;)

I was disturbed to see in the pictures Richard was wearing a Cycling Podcast t-shirt. I mean, doesn't he know the rules? That's like being in a band and wearing your own t-shirt at a gig

I didn't know the best place to put this.

I was listening again yesterday to the (im)perfect TDF show, and heard the glee with which Daniel Friebe spoke about the doping scandals in the Tour (particularly 2007 in Pau).

It got me to thinking, maybe this is why a lot of this reporting is going on. The journalists miss those days, when there was a new scandal each day. The last Tour like that was 2008, and even then the majority of the positive tests came in October.
