  • Managed a handful of centuries but only 104 at the max. i feel pushed to get home and spend time with the family mostly. i do cycle annesley (nots) to skegness annually and am aiming to go both ways next summer so that'd be around the 160 mark.

  • As in the three disciplines? Sure, swim for 7.2 miles (took about 4 hours), then ride for 336 miles which took 24 hours (hence my including it as my longest ride in a day), and then finally finishing it off with a 78.6 mile 'run' (laboured shuffle) which took again about a day and it rained and blew high winds for most of the last ten hours. Was a typical event where you hate yourself, life, and every person involved in the event until you finish and suddenly it's all smiles again

 Would it not be easier just to take the entire entry list for one of these and give them a padded room each?

Man alive! I'm confident I wouldn't be able to do half the distance of any one of those things if it was the only thing I had to do!

Lightweight here when compared to many others, my best effort was 176km which happened to be a route i was doing, I could have gone a lot further that day quite easy.

462 miles. That's it I win, close the thread before one of the select few in the 500 club post.
constantly reavalueating the situation and altering the perceived parameters accordingly
  • I'm still learning: I did my first, second, third and fourth centuries on consecutive days (day 2 still being my longest at 193k). My hardest so far is 160k and 6500m of climbing. Just beginning though and pacing myself.

    :D

That is the serious end of business for sure! I don't think I have either the talent or drive for that sort of distance. I see 400 as an fairly small stretch for me at my next attempt - but not much more!

I was always warned you can't ride the 24 just the once. Something will eat away at you, you will know how to go further. I don't think I can devote the time next year, but maybe 2016 I will try it again.

Even more niggling is that it's 200 metres short of 600km :D

    Let it go...

  • Furthest I've done is 105 miles and was chuffed to break the 6 hour barrier for 100 miles, the idea of doing that 4 times in a day is mind blowing, some great achievements by others. Chapeau.
