The sense of entitlement we have in our society is embarrasing though. Everyone wants to be outraged all the time. It's not like a close personal friend let you down... the biggest online bike retailer made a mistake and took 24 hours to send an explanation, it seems. As ugo says, if you are really so outraged then never buy from them again and go and support your local bike shop instead of jumping at a huge discount like a pack of rabid dogs.

    Amen.

Don't forget about poor Speed King - vindicated after all those years.

The only people with a legitimate complaint in all of this are Evans who have been duped into price matching! Get over it people - Wiggle spotted their mistake in time to prevent you all from ******* them over to the tune of £100, you can't seriously act all hard done by and take the moral high ground?!
  • I look back and miss the days when you could save up and buy what you actually wanted, instead of compromising on what is on sale, regardless of what you actually want. The only interesting aspect of consumerism is the desire part, if it's negated by the sales, it becomes a pretty bleak experience...

Those have been on the site for a long time now. I'm not clear from that, are they Campag or Shimano?

Campag only I believe. The Quattros are a good deal on there as well £226 for the tyre and tube package. Not sure how they compare with the Zondas, probably not a huge difference although 200g is not insignificant.

    Wheels arrived yesterday, £163.

This is the first time I've been on Bike Radar since Wednesday morning when I saw this thread and ordered them. I've heard nothing, other than the usual delivery notice, from Wiggle, so, until now, I had no idea that the price was anything other than an end of season sale.

It's a good job Wiggle don't have a store front otherwise irate Zondaless types would storm the premises, wave cricket bats about shouting 'where are my Zondas'.

Funnily the German interweb company I got mine from last year also made a mistake. Their computer, in it's infinite wisdom, declared Somerset was not part of the EU therefore no 20% VAT was due. I paid £204 plus 6 euro shipping smugly thinking no one would ever get them cheaper !

My guess is Wiggle may have honoured the price until stock sold out, which may have not been that many units. 4000 hits in this thread alone, and of course, hundreds who don't read the forum would be have been surfing the Wiggle site in the hours in question.

I'm not so sure, it looks as if the OP never got his wheels; I assume he would have ordered his before posting here, and in that case, before me.

    "Dear Customer,

Thank you for your recent order for the Campagnolo Zonda Clincher Wheelset.

Due to a listing error you purchased this product at an incorrect price, therefore we have had to cancel your order. We can only deeply apologise that we have let you down on this occasion and fully appreciate any disappointment this may cause.

We removed the product from sale as soon as we noticed the error and fully reimbursed all effected customers at the earliest opportunity.

The Wheelset has now been added back on site and is available to purchase at the correct price. Our team of product specialists are on hand to assist if you’d like help finding an alternative Wheelset.

Again, we offer our sincere apologies for the inconvenience that has been caused.

    Kind regards,

    Wiggle Customer Services"

Looks little like a public relations trying to smooth things out – They should have just sent this yesterday.
For the record I’m not wound up about this (it was only £50 saving over best price elsewhere) and wasn’t that surprised when the orders got cancelled.
Now if it had been some £1000 plus wheels at £450 I would be a bit more miffed !
