Just received a confusing E-Mail from Wiggle (depending if your cup is half full or half empty) stating that I will be refunded my money as they could not process my order. The 2nd sentence suggests that they will dispatch in 2-7 days.

    Will they or won't they?

Should I have tried to buy two pairs???

If they have actually taken your money then they have formed a binding contract to supply the goods (I believe). Unless they are physically unable to supply then I think you would be within your rights to insist they do.

I don't think thats the case, at least I bought a Garmin 810 bundle off an amazon seller for a cracking price, unfortunately it was an error, Amazon had already taken my money and I received an email from the seller 3 days after making the order saying it was an error and that I would receive a refund. Nothing I could do.

John Lewis did something similar on a TV two Xmas' ago. I ordered on Boxing Day thinking pffft that's a bloody bargain and told my Dad about it, he then searches for the TV only to find it's double what I had just paid for it. John Lewis CS' called me to advise of the 'issue' but said they'd honor the price. Two years on and the TV is just starting to become available for the price I paid for it :D

The balance was restored when my then 2 year old son repeatedly threw his brothers Avengers figures at the screen - scratchy scratchy

To be honest, your immature posts here have added nothing to the thread, and weren't in the slightest bit funny.

    Unlike this one you mean?

I suspect I wasn't the only one that thought they were amusing.

Interesting - it seems the procedure was to cancel the original orders, put the wheels on back-order, then cancel the back-order. Great.

I'm all for allowing people to make a mistake and own up to it, as long as they communicate that this is the case, and perhaps apologise for the balls-up, but to just cancel the order without explanation is a bit tight.

I have just contacted them via my Wiggle account to ask if they are now going to honour the order given they are back in stock. I'll post back if and when I get a response.

Well, *something* has arrived at goods-in from Wiggle; I ordered a saddlebag at the same time, so the suspense is still killing me. Updates when it gets to my desk!

If they're going to fulfill the orders then great however I doubt that seeing as they cancelled the back orders.
I was quite happy to think you win some you lose some untill they put them back mon sale at £100 more.
If they'd given an honest explanation and said we messed up then fine but this is just sneeky, that said I'll wait a while longer to see what happens although they answered my first 3 emails very quick yesterday afternoon (almost as if they knew they were coming !) and then nothing since may last at 16.20.

You mean because I don't take western world problems like "having too much choice" or "missing out on an item on sale" seriously?

In that you are right, I am afraid, I don't...

I've had an email back from Wiggle in reply to my query yesterday asking them to clarify whether I would be receiving my order, as follows:-

" Unfortunately there has been a problem with this item and we are not able to despatch this to you. A full refund will be processed back to your original payment method for the full order, our stock control team are looking into this and a more detailed explanation will be sent shortly.

I can only apologise again for any inconvenience caused on this occasion and if you would like any assistance on finding a possible alternative, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to help"

Not looking good guys but I have already replied telling them I'm really not impressed by the lack of honesty here. I will stir up a hornets nest here if I have to!

  • Just received my Dear John E-Mail....

To summarise it states that the Zonda wheels are back in stock and are ready to order..........At the new price!!!

In reality I guess we all thought if the price is too good to be true then it probably is. As others though I would have much rather Wiggle accept that they dropped a large one

Galatzo... it's clear there has been a mistake, which they are trying to rectify. People make mistakes... if you by mistake paid 4 grand to your insurance company instead of 400, you would like to amend the transaction, wouldn't you? Wiggle is not the National Lottery, you haven't won anything... they make a mistake, they apologise and give you your money back, don't see where the freaking problem is...

C'mom, if they had been straight and said it was a pricing error I'd have to agree with you, but no they said the item is on back order, cancel orders, and then they are back in stock within 12 hours.

Thing is we don't know where the error is, because we don't work there. There is clear legislation on the matter and they don't have to honour a price claim. Whether they are upfront or they lie it might influence your future behaviour towards Wiggle, but I wouldn't hold my breath, seeing this thread I've got the feeling people would buy anything from anywhere, provided the price is low enough, whether they need it or not.

Ugo, I agree with you in principle the issue here is lack of honesty. We were emailed yesterday saying the goods were not in stock and they would despatch them when they come back into stock and today they are selling the item for £100 more. That is wrong, pure and simple.

Agree, then stick to your principles and show them your mid finger next time they put up a sale... problem is, will you... or you will instead chicken out and order a pair or pedals at 70% discount that you don't even need?

Nope, I found them very amusing too. It is strange the consumer spirit. When I bought my Zondas at £260 I thought they were a bargain given that they are very similar to RS80s...and I paid nearly £400 for them. Then, a month later I see the Zondas for £160 and feel ripped off. A cup of tea and few of Ugo's piccies and I can see the nonsense in all this. The wheels are good vfm at £260 and Wiggle made a mistake. Could have been handled better but I could also have done several things better yesterday :)

All I have is an email that says my payment was refunded from paypal - no seller note.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest if there was a price error and I'm not getting the wheels. What irks me is the lack of courtesy in just dumping the money back at me with no reasoning. A simple sorry, we made a mistake, would be fine.

    Correct.
I don't mind missing out and was resigned to it last night but at no point did they say we cocked up with the price.
I'm not expecting to get them but I'd have been much happier with an email saying sorry we messed up than the bs story we got sent.
Not chucking my toys out just would have liked a bit more honesty before they put them back on sale at + £100
I’m now looking at the Corimas on PBK again !

Half expected a lycra clad stone throwing mob at my house last night for getting everyone’s hopes up when I started this !

Right what have CRC got on offer….

  • Genuine question...

Why instead you shrug and accept as inevitable if you buy a house, spend money for a survey, but then the agency accepts a higher offer and de facto sticks it up your axshole?
Isn't that a meaner and far more incovenient way of getting screwed up? Yet, never seen anybody entering an estate agency and punching the salesman in the face...

And that something was... the saddle bag. Hopes dashed. It does seem clear to me that it was a pricing error, so if they do turn round and say ooops, sorry we can't do that, then fair enough. I've heard nothing from them yet and the order is still being "prepared", so who knows. The trouble is, we get so used to occasional huge discounts and stock clearing, that it seemed plausible at the time. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part :)

What is strange is that they've instantly shipped and delivered the other item, without updating my order, and without me having paid for next-day delivery. Not that I'm complaining about speedy receipt of goods, but it does make it seem as if something strange was going on.

I've checked the saddlebag - no sign of any teeth, huge or not. But I did get Haribo!
  • My order was placed on next day delivery, received an email to say it has been processed and dispatched.

Received a tracking number and email / text from DPD with tracking details around 1.30pm. Tracking was working, showed it had been picked up at 6pm yesterday.

Received an email and text from DPD this morning to say the parcel has been delayed with the reason being "Sorry, your Wiggle parcel has not arrived with us, we'll let you know as soon as it does and confirm it's on it's way to you".

    Ouch !
Yours looked as if it was coming.
Reckon someones seen all these Zonda orders and gone who there and pulled them back, even the ones that could have been packed and ready to go.

I don't think we're gonna here any more from Wiggle on this.

Never mind I can catch up on the work I should be doing !

I get your point about reality checks and as the wheel expert are they still "good value" at £263?
