    See those people? They got there by car/camper/train. The Alpe doesn't have exclusivity on crowds and there's more to France than Alpe d'Huez.

    Yes, handy for armchair fans to conclude on EPO usage :lol: I guess that's one advantage for it featuring so regularly.

    Looks like next year will hav a TTT, but after the 13 km 1st stage TT in Utrecht, not a single ITT!

    Can't really see this happening. Velowire quite often get several of the stages right but rarely does he nail the whole route correctly beforehand. He's got 7 mountain stages in there, with 7 summit finishes (if you include montee jalabert) :shock: I think we'll get another longer TT to go with the TTT and Stage 1. Only one day to wait now!

    Will be interesting to see which others climbs are included in the Digne-Pra Loup stage - would love to see something with the Champs/Allos or Valberg/Bonette before the final climb. That part of the Southern Alps is rarely visited these days by the Tour and it's a real shame for it.

    I bet they won't have a TTT as late as stage 9. They always have them in the first three or four days so teams are as close to full strength as possible.

    I know, but as far as I know velowire got it pretty much fully correct the past few years in the week before the announcement.

    Alpe d'Huez? It's been done and done well but so many climbs out there - Inrng had the Chartreuse Trilogy the other week

    If the proposed route rumours are true it doesn't look ideal for Froome with only a short ITT and several stages ending in short punchy climbs.

    Doesn't sound overly challenging by Alpine standards! Little respite between climbs though I suppose.

    I don't mind the Alpe again other than the crowds can get in the way of the racing - agree if I was riding it there are far nicer climbs but as part of a race I'm watching on TV that makes no odds - I do think the descent off the Lautaret is too long a lead in though - rather they went over the Croix de Fer or Glandon and straight into the Alpe - that descent is far faster and more technical so there are options to attack earlier. I know Contador did attack early in 2011 anyway but you know what I mean.

    Froome is suggesting he might bottle the tour and go for the Giro/Veulta double.
