To be fair though, alcohol is pretty awesome. It deserves glorifying.

    (In moderation, of course)

    Spooky

  • Not in the least bit outraged. Just think he's posing like a kn0b. The tops even still on the bottle so it is just for effect.
Life is unfair, kill yourself or get over it.

Anyone know the story behind the knee strapping/bandage?

He had a slight tweak so dug around in there with a carving knife. Like all pro cyclists.

This thread has gone a bit weird. Proper win by a proper classy bikie and he's one of us (pretty much lifelong member of the Archer, clubruns, tester, trackie); extravagantly gifted and hard working which is where the connection ends. Be happy, I am (alcoholic drink may be involved).
  • Well I like alcohol, in moderation and I am very pleased for Wiggins and I think he can certainly be considered one of the best all round cyclists of his generation and I said as much after his PR performance this year. I don't see why saying that should seem controversial.

Anyway where did I put my wine, I have a conference presentation to prepare...
    Correlation is not causation.
  • Its not really Tom Boonen's hookers and coke is it.

If i'd won the WC I'd be naked and very very drunk by now

Sweepstake on how many times the rainbow TT jersey will be seen next year?

    I go for 2.

    Strong ride by Wiggins. Hat.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

    Do British dual-carriageways count?

6.66 W/kg, that's going to have them foaming at the mouth!

Who knows? Hopefully we'll soon find out.

As an aside, is it just me who would love to see Nibali give the hour a go?

I've not seen any evidence that Nibs could ever have the watts to even make it worth an effort.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

    There is this

But I agree, Nibali isn't the guy for it. I think if Froome prepared for it he could do a good ride. He'd be truly formidable if he could get properly aero. :P

Great ride by Wiggins, I wish he was like this all the time!

Hour next? Surely. I'm pretty certain he can beat Cancellara on the track. Shame Fabu wasn't there today, maybe he'll go long in the road race :-)

Really?? You don't think Nibs could better the distance of Voigt?

I thought Jens only targeted 380 watts. It did seem low.

As someone who has ridden on the track twice(!) can I just say that its not a case of just turning up, getting aero and riding. There is a real skill to hitting the line, not wobbling and still putting the power down. Even more so after 55 minutes (I should imagine). That is where (I guess) Brad is going to have a big advantage...
  • And the Tv interviewer said to him.

"what was the first thing that crossed your mind when you woke up this morning?"

Bradley: "Well, I really needed a wee. "

    Priceless.

He'd beat Jens yes, but I meant in the wider sense of setting a true world class distance.

Posing with a drink in his hand like every other moron on social media. Stay classy, Sir.

To be fair he's just won a World Championship.

And according to his own accounts, had problems with drink in the past.

It's not a picture of him celebrating with a drink. It's a photo of him glorifying alcohol.

The dude can ride a bike. But he doesn't seem to have anything between his ears.

    For f'uck's sake.

Wiggins is the only man to have won the Tour de France and to have been an Olympic and world champion on both the road and the track. Not bad.

That miserable chump Evans can't be considered in the same league as Wiggo. Legend.

And nothing wrong with having a few beers to celebrate.
