Quintana's footwear borrowed from a female extra from Austin Powers there.

I know which outfit I'd rather risk riding around Glasgow in.

Hefty push for Majka. Not sure about that.

He wasn't even attempting to pedal for most of it!

A strong effort from Quintana today, fashion-wise.

Is that a new TT helmet Quintana is wearing?

Does the bike used in the time-trial-to-standard-bike exchange have to come from the roof of the car? Could the teams not have a team helper with a bike out at a designated point on the route where the exchange could take place and eliminate the messing with a bike coming off a roof rack and save a little extra time?

    DD.

Re these bike changes; is there anything preventing the team car stopping before the rider and the guy unhooking the bike then chasing up the road for 30 metres or so until he's level with the rider and then affecting the swap

To me it seems like it would a few seconds quicker

I guess they might want to have the flexibility to stay on the TT bike as long as they feel it's going to gain them time, which might be hard to work out exactly beforehand. Or if their TT bike breaks before the changeover point you'd want to have a good replacement on the car and not a bike that might not be set up the way the rider wants it.

Rubbish Giro for Sky, but Cataldo (and Swift/Deignan too) can't be faulted for giving everything a go.

According to the time checks Quintana already 26" up on Uran.

Wasn't Uran ~20s up at the bottom of the climb? Not looking good for him if that's accurate!

Nor forgetting Seb Henao who has had a good Giro too for such a youngster
