Real shame the rest of the climb is not very steep.

However, really hope Pozzo blows them away on Zoncolan and the MTT.

It's all gone tempo again as the road is less steep here. Only 1500m to go for the leading two.

Easily 30 in Evans group. What a joke.

Go Pozzo Go. Looking very strong and fluid. Really hope he gets a good gap at the end.

Great work by these two - break all day, then attacking at the base and getting a great gap.

Cat and mouse in the last 700m they had so much time.

Pozzovivo and AG2R reaping the rewards for setting something up and actually going for it.

quality ride from Weening and Malacarne for 1 & 2 respectively.

Pozzo gains just under 30 secs. That is a very good amount tbh. Do that again and again and you are sorted.

Respect to Pozzovivo - the rest are total lightweights.

Kelly says Malacarne would be the fastest normally and all the DS would likely say the same.

Personally I had no idea who would win.

26" plus 4" bonification for Pozzovivo then. Gap held almost intact after the steep section.

Kelly saying Pozzo is not a main rival. Well, lots of mountains coming up, lots of very steep stuff, a MTT and he can do a good TT.

Much as I love him, Sean Kelly is so so bad at determining which rider is going to be strongest in the sprint. He gets it wrong every time!

Don't know Malacane but Weening is a better rider and looked better (to me).
Wenning just said 'sorry, you did well'.

    Weening doing his walking-sideways-while-interviewed thing.

Did Weening just shake Malacarne's hand (off camera) and then apologise for beating him?

LOL at that Interview. "It was steep *burp*, but not steep enough *burp*, and I saw everyone go on the wrong side of the roundabout, so I went on the right side *burp* - Hey mate, sorry, you did a good job there *burp*" :)

Another good stage, nice to see the break succeed and good aggression from Pozzo to pinch 30 seconds on a fairly innocuous climb. Weening with a good hybrid Australian / Dutch accent.

Sorry, but surely that can't be genuine?

I think the apology was for getting the back wheel position in the last few hundred metres - doubt he meant it
