    The wooden block has been used as a chopping board? I would also guess it's a leather chisel. Used for cobbling shoes or making belts!? As the handle top is round and large, I wonder if you strike it with the hand?

    That is a buttonhole chisel and block, used for cutting through the material after the fabric has been sewn.

    Rapha use one made from bronze from captured Russian cannons and wood from the Titanic hence the outrageous prices.

    Or it's what Gepetto made Pinocchios bo**ocks from.

    I was just joking about Gepetto didn't think it would be right, oh sorry it was for button holes.
