Is it a virtual green ball inside a virtual cube?

Is it a prototype luminous object in a protective cage so that you can throw it into a dark space to light it up?

Two questions to narrow it down a bit:

    1) So when you said a virtual object, are we thinking of something that only exists in a virtual world (for instance a computer game) rather than just a computer-generated image of a real object?
It has a name and serves a function.
    2) then does the sprite itself have a name and function (eg. as a button or symbol) or or are we looking for the name and function of a conceptual object which the sprite merely represents?

You get a virtual sheep to eat it and then you can see 'Daisy' in the dark when you fancy some virtual action?

    It's a button. It's a tool.

Well, the little box is reminiscent of a selection tool in a photo-editing suite, so is it maybe an object selection tool from some sort of 3D CAD program?

The sprite is called Nigel, but known to the rest of the sprite community as Tool. An accident with a small diesel engine ended in disaster and meant that goblin surgeons had to replace his ..... with a spanner.

So we've got to work out which programme out of the millions available this button is from?

I don't understand the question but I presume it has a function relating to sheep and a name relating to fornication.

To be honest, I think Metronome may have killed the game with his insanely-difficult one, so we might be calling on you to restart it if no-one comes up with the goods soon.

Metronome csn just keep plodding on in a flat note in 4/4 time, calculated to bore the pants off any well-modulated rhythm obsessed cranker in a binary divisible cadence of 80rpm to the tune of 'Why are we waiting" until the device needs the potential energy of a spring wound up in the back of the box to keep perfect time so that Metronome can just keep plodding...

    It's a seat for a frog.

Is it a clamp of some description? Does the bottom part swivel to clamp something round? Is it a light bracket for a bike?
    seanoconn - gruagach craic!
  • It is not a seat for a frog nor is it a clamp.

The lefthand part attaches to something. The righthand part is hinged to the left along the line that separates them and has about +/- 5mm of movement towards and away from the camera.

Some sort of handlebar-mounted electronic remote?
  • No. There are no electronics involved.

The item that it attaches to usually makes a noise.
