Not a balloon heater by the way, nothing that exotic.
I saw this in a sort of antique shop in a local garden centre so took the pics ready for when it was my go again. There's another view of it, but it has a name on so I couldn't use it, but I can tell you that this view has a 'receptacle' for a mains plug/lead. I can also tell you that this might be part of something else. I thought at first it was all of it (other than what goes in the hole) but research shows I might wrong.

I found out later that it's actually part of a vacuum cleaner and a very strange looking beast at that.
Why the hell you'd need 3 vacuum cleaners, each with it's own cord, and then that bloody great bin is anyones guess. Apparently it was used to clean aircraft, and in particular the "queens flight" which is how it earned it's Royal Warrant.
They must have been great, because they really did well (NOT).
EDIT I've found out that the pic above is the "Triplex" and they also made a Duplex and Simplex models, and I suppose they used two and one vacuum units respectively.
Anyway, I gave Laurentian the chance to speak up, but he chose not to, so it's your go Sungod.
