Top Sky rider is NEO PRO Mr Earle, 5mins back. Excellent by this hardy Tazmanian - rode Fleche (DNF) and Amstel (79th) as well.

Four NetApps and two MTN's including Louis M only 3.33 down. Great stuff for low-budget small teams.

    British riders totally absent.

18 separate teams in the top 20. Only Katusha and AG2R had two riders each, quite remarkable I thought.

Apart from the one who fell off when possibly being on course for back-to-back victories

Without looking at the startlist how many Brits even started? Edmondson, Cummings, someone on NetApp maybe?

Kwiatkowski had to ride wide of Martin, didn't get back into the draft before Gerrans jumped. Ripple effects. #lbl

I don't think anyone else cares. You could go on their site later to find out.

Bit harsh. I know ff is a challenge 75% of the time but Sky's result this week have been embrassing

    The Dan Martin crash (via@MichaelCreed)

    Pedal strike?

Martin's crash looks suspiciously like a pedal strike... maybe not a full strike but enough to cause a grip issue on the back wheel... Especially as they took the corner from the apex and pedaled around it.... He's making a habit of crashing on the last bend of monuments. He wouldn't have won anyway. Gerrans sprint is too strong in a group like that.

Not sure why this is important, but Cummings did a lot of work, which I'm pretty sure is his job.

That's what it looks like to me, you can hear a noise the moment he crashes and his inside pedal is down at this point.

Fans outraged as cyclist wins race by playing to his strengths...

Shame for Martin, haven't seen the likes of that since Menchov retired.

Dan Martin writes about the Ardennes.

It might sound silly but I'm not driven by results. I'm driven by my hunger and my love for bike racing. I love racing my bike, that feeling of competing, of seeing how good I am and giving it my hardest.

Not for no reason he is up there on my: riders I admire list.

That was a rifle shot from the downtown Liege book repository.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

Actually he was ill. Quality rider Cummings though, left Sky and made it rain.

The biggest mistake Team Sky have made in their unsuccessful quest to win a classic was not being able to accommodate Gerrans in the team.
