    J Rod struggling

PTP punt ain't going to pay off

For the record my 'go against the tide' punt was either going to be him or Costa.

It's like some sort of voodoo
    Rui Costa down.

It's why I rarely pick people I actually want to win for PTP.

J Rod and Costa both abandon.

This Costa is clearly a lightweight

It's his aewodynamic, stiff bike. It's been fighting the wind.

Costa caused a crash in Fleche. Now a victim of one and out.

JRod suffering after that idiot took him out un Amstel. Huge disappointment for cycling fans.

Porte possible abandon. Struggling to hold the back of the peloton.

Real racer. Motivated as ever because he can race! He could have been banned for a pretty long time, so now he appreciates it and I'm sure he will make the most out of his time on a bike.

That's the attitude I admire. Costa, half of the Sky team inc. Froome, also Schleck and possibly few others should learn from that.

@RuiCostaCyclist: #LBL Hi friends, I'm ok, do not worry. I have some pain, abrasions and bruises but nothing serious, just bad luck. Thanks for your support.

These Phils on the road are like those echelons on the motorway they use to indicate distance.

Riders on La Redoute. A gap of 1'33" between leaders and the main group. Good crowds!

What should Froome learn? To ride well ill or injured?

What might be required - a crash course in Panache studies. FF might be able to help as a tutor. Sometimes controversial though, think Robin Williams in Dead Poets

Andy Schleck is setting up a false scenario right now. Come the tour and he will attack early on one of the longer mountain stages. They will all let him go and he will gain 20 /30 minutes and cover himself in glorious victory

My comment was not only about this race but their appearance overall.

One example, Devolder in Tour of Flanders. When you have no legs you'll always find excuses, call it stomach bugs or whatever... I'm pretty much sure your Froomie will find similar excuses during the TdF because he would not take the beating that Contador is going to serve him.

Bono doing a good job of making the Lampré kit look reasonable here. Just over 20km to go.

Can we have one single thread that doesn't degenerate into some sort of Contador vs Froome p*ssing match? Save it for the summer.

Sight of some of the favourites coming towards the front as Arredondo makes a move at the front with Pozzovivo. Sanchez looks stuck in no mans land.

Now, Pozzovivo needs to launch his last year's TT skills :-D
