Exactly, it’s a cycling forum, which occasionally has some photos, taken during the rides. Or so I thought.0 -

Veronese68 wrote:There is criticism and there is constructive criticism. It's a thread about scenic photograph's and PB wasn't rude about it, that's fine as far as I'm concerned.
TBF there are a lot of rubbish unscenic photographs on here......Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Was only trying to help. Won’t bother again. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -

Anyway, in MM1's photo, although the position of the bike is a bit weird, the bars lead up to a trail of people walking into the sea, which draws the eye away from the rather bleak looking low tide spot in the center of the photo.
I think critique is the best word... oh and the light is coming from the wrong side - the bike seems in the way of a (not so scenic) landscape picture0 -

It was properly humid today, that spot was a bit of a break, given the sea breeze.0 -

Doh... you can move either you or the frickin bike... it’s called composition0 -
Sorry before the abuse for being touchy... I come from from a pre digital age of taking 24/36 pictures paying/praying for development and seeing only a handful of focused and exposed correctly pictures never mind capturing the moment/light/composition.
So please can we have some scenic bike pictures and not publish some snaps that a Polaroid would be ashamed of. If in doubt look at some of the early posts on this thread.
Rant over...0 -

Well let’s see your efforts first eh?0 -

Wowzers, composition you say? If I thought you had the slightest clue what you were talking about, I’d probably pay attention, the fact you clearly don’t, means I won’t.0 -

Your efforts aren’t even worth talking about, it’s a waste of bandwidth. How do you like that for critique?0 -

I think calling milemuncher's photos 'an effort' is a stretch given he fails to even bother to get off the bike to take them most of the time.0

I know bandwidth is expensive and time consuming - so here is a well thought picture of mine, however in the true spirit of kaizen critique away... oh and yes it was a previous post if you had cared to look before your retort.

P.O.V. Shots, admittedly not usually a term used in this type of photography, but that’s what they are, taken as if by the bike, I understand that’s a concept that might be beyond you, but that’s no big surprise.0 -

Post production is fine, but really, unless you’re planning on selling the shots, far too much effort. This is a cycling forum after all. I know there is lots of turd polishing software available, but screw that, just post the shots, without all the reach aroundy, photo nerdy ‘orse poo.0 -

Nah
Taken In b & w mode on basic android - using composition learnt in the 80’s with a manual extremely low budget SLR
Combining two hobbies ain’t a bad thing is it?

Don't use the C word with MM. Point, shoot, upload, blame the hardware.0

Nice, I like that. Although to be a true POV it should be from the saddle, facing forward, or just behind the bars ( it makes it look like the bike was looking at the subject ).0 -
