FFS who cares! Way too much criticism on this forum, it seems to have gone from posting a quick photo from a ride to a competition to display the ultimate framed photo and God forbid anything should be a mm out of place.

Exactly, it’s a cycling forum, which occasionally has some photos, taken during the rides. Or so I thought.

I notice no-one seems to appear along with their bikes, no bike selfies? Everyone keeping anonymous?

What if they are taking the picture?

Ask MF if he's ever heard of selfies....

    Which one?

There is criticism and there is constructive criticism. It's a thread about scenic photograph's and PB wasn't rude about it, that's fine as far as I'm concerned.

Fine. Keep taking and posting crap photos. No skin off my nose.
Was only trying to help. Won’t bother again.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

It does kind of matter as it's nice to be able to take good photos and it's also nice when people appreciate them. A bit of criticism helps one improve. After all, photos are easy to take more of when you're next out.

Anyway, in MM1's photo, although the position of the bike is a bit weird, the bars lead up to a trail of people walking into the sea, which draws the eye away from the rather bleak looking low tide spot in the center of the photo.

I think critique is the best word... oh and the light is coming from the wrong side - the bike seems in the way of a (not so scenic) landscape picture

It was properly humid today, that spot was a bit of a break, given the sea breeze.

Sorry before the abuse for being touchy... I come from from a pre digital age of taking 24/36 pictures paying/praying for development and seeing only a handful of focused and exposed correctly pictures never mind capturing the moment/light/composition.

So please can we have some scenic bike pictures and not publish some snaps that a Polaroid would be ashamed of. If in doubt look at some of the early posts on this thread.

    Rant over...

Wowzers, composition you say? If I thought you had the slightest clue what you were talking about, I’d probably pay attention, the fact you clearly don’t, means I won’t.

Your efforts aren’t even worth talking about, it’s a waste of bandwidth. How do you like that for critique?

I think calling milemuncher's photos 'an effort' is a stretch given he fails to even bother to get off the bike to take them most of the time.

I know bandwidth is expensive and time consuming - so here is a well thought picture of mine, however in the true spirit of kaizen critique away... oh and yes it was a previous post if you had cared to look before your retort.

P.O.V. Shots, admittedly not usually a term used in this type of photography, but that’s what they are, taken as if by the bike, I understand that’s a concept that might be beyond you, but that’s no big surprise.

Post production is fine, but really, unless you’re planning on selling the shots, far too much effort. This is a cycling forum after all. I know there is lots of turd polishing software available, but screw that, just post the shots, without all the reach aroundy, photo nerdy ‘orse poo.

Nice, I like that. Although to be a true POV it should be from the saddle, facing forward, or just behind the bars ( it makes it look like the bike was looking at the subject ).
