Next landfall if I had kept going would have been South Wales.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Sort of, it's the shoreline to the left of the marina where the power station used to be.SloppySchleckonds wrote:How many jam sandwiches have you got in that saddle bag?

I think the prickly pear peeping through the barrier rules out Wales. Looks very Canary-ish0 -

The Monster of Provence was too easy, how about this one: as a clue it is nearly 600m higher up than the summit of the last one.

Managed to find a bike hire shop in San Francisco that rented out proper road bikes. Had a great day just wandering around SF, Sausalito and Marin
The Hawk Hill descent is not one for the faint hearted...0 -

I used to go to Larkspur in Marin quite often on business a few years back. Beautiful around there, especially if you can get up to the Muir woods. I've only managed to hire a bike once out there, horrible hybrid type thing, so we didn't get very far. I did hire a 5L Ford Mustang for a week though. Very disappointing, almost as slow as the hybrid bike.0 -

Iseran?
I'd have been very surprised if anyone recognised where I was. It was at the top of the Breithorn above Grengiols and the Rhone valley. You can just see the longest glacier in Europe in the background, the Aletsch. 14.3 km at 11% on gravel tracks topping out at just under 2500 m. Amazing views, but it was cold at the top, there was snow and frost in the shade.0 -

Isn't that the opposite side from the Col de Pre? That is a fab climb.0
