Great, whetting the appetite. I'd forgotten how painful Maggy's commentary was

Gripping stuff even one year on when you know the result. Iglinski's baby blue romper suite though...shudders...

Bad news: my plan to return my bike to the state nature intended (eg with gears and stuff - I went singlespeed for the winter) whilst watching MSR has had to be abandoned because the sodding cables haven't turned up.

Good news: my wife is taking the kids out and I can safely watch MSR with a few beers and not worry about sodding up the bar tape.

    Really looking forward to this.

Got a good feeling about this one today! For quite a few of today's favourites its possibly their last ever chance to win MSR.

Hopefully Sagan finally gets this one, failing that I would like to see any of the following win: Kreuziger, Nibali, Gilbert, Van Av, Chavanel, Stybar, Bennati or Geraint.

Will be very impressed if Dayer finishes the race. Not sure why Gerrans isnt on the three startlists i've checked.

If Cavendish gets to the top of the Cipressa fresh I can see his team pulling him all the way to the finish.

Will only tune in with 60km to race unless the ticker shows something happening on the 240km run in.

The probability is that one of Cavendish, Degenkolb or Greipel gets the win because there are just too many riders desperately wanting to make sure this comes down to a sprint.

I went for Sagan in PTP though because he is the only one that can win in bascially any scenario. Plus it's about time he won a monument.

The bunch are going to have to make it a hard race to see them off. It would be nice to see a big name drill it on Cipressa. I will be watching the last hour of this at the absolute max.

What are people's thought on Cav's point of view:

“Changing Milan-San Remo is like getting Banksy to paint the inside of the Pantheon in Rome,” he said of the proposed change. “It takes away from the history and changes the whole course. I’m lucky to have a chance again.”

It's not as if it hasn't been fiddled about with over the years. Are these changes just meddling or is it keeping it fresh ?

This has to be the hardest Classic of the season to predict. Someone mentioned Kristoff as a podium / possible winner, I nearly went for him on PTP before opting for Degenkolb. Hopefully we'll get a full course this year. If it does turn out to be really bad conditions on the day I may change my PTP pick to Stannard.

    Yea, I bet a little stack on him @ 41/1, makes ~ 10/1 for the podium 8)

What about van Avermaet or will he ride for Gilbert?/Phinney?

Stannard issn't also a bad pick, especially when it rains, right?!
